Jada came downstairs and smelled something good coming from the kitchen. "Mom, what are you making?" she asked as she made her way into the kitchen.

"I'm making breakfast," Michelle answered. "Pancakes, french toast, waffles, eggs, bacon, and some fruit to go with it."

"Wow, what's the occasion?" Jada asked as she immediately began helping her mom wash the fruit and cut it. "I can't remember the last time you went all out like this. I'm not complaining, I miss having breakfast with you in the morning."

"For Callie," Michelle answered. "To officially welcome her to the family and to show her how much we love and appreciate her."

With her hands covered in strawberry water, Jada wrapped her arms around her mom giving her a hug while also not getting her wet. "Thanks mom, I love you."

"Is she on her way down?"

"She's still sleeping, but I can go get her if you want me to."

Michelle shook her head. "No need yet, everything isn't ready. Let her sleep."

"I love how much you love Callie mom."

"That girl is your everything," Michelle began. "I can see it all over you and I have never seen you this happy in my life. And I see how happy you make her. She lights up so much more when we talk about you. I wish you could see the way she looks at you. I wish somebody would look at me like she looks at you."

Jada smiled. "Yeah, I never thought I would be this happy."

"It makes me so happy that my baby girl is happy. And I always thought I would have to give the 'don't ever hurt my daughter speech' but I know I don't have to do that to Callie."

Michelle finished up the other part of the fruit and put some butter in a pan before setting it on top of the burner. "I think you still owe me the story of how you two met."

"Okay, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else unless Callie says it's okay to do so.  It's really serious."

Michelle nodded. "I promise."

"I'm sure you're not going to believe me, so I'm going to show you first."

With that, Jada took a step back and pressed her necklace, instantly transforming into the Lynx suit in front of her mom. As soon as she'd done so, she quickly pressed the necklace again and the suit was gone.

"Mom, Callie is Lynx."

Jada thought she was going to have to pick up her mom off the floor based on the reaction. "Do you remember that day I went to the mall for a date and there ended up being a shooter in the parking lot?"

"I do."

"Well, I got stood up on that date so as I was leaving I got caught up in the middle of it and Callie saved my life. And then the next day she just happened to have her crash land on my porch after a mission. She messed up her ankle pretty good and I waited with her until S.H.I.E.L.D. came for her."

Michelle still looked completely stunned. Jada added, "Callie made me my own version of the suit. It's built to protect me."

Jada couldn't help but smile when her mom couldn't find the words. "So does that mean... I'm going to have super grandchildren?"

Jada laughed so hard she had to lean against the counter to support herself. "Like how did that even happen?" Michelle asked. "Was she born with it, like what?"

"Babe, what's so funny?"

Both Jada and her mom turned to see Callie now standing in the kitchen. The two women had been laughing so hard that neither noticed Callie come downstairs.

"Am I going to get grandchildren with superpowers?" Michelle was quick to ask, getting Callie to laugh as well.

Callie and Jada both knew the answer to that question and it wasn't the one Michelle was hoping for. The couple had already discussed this and the answer was no. Callie was going to undergo a treatment that would take away her powers for good.

Jada could tell Callie didn't want to break her moms heart so she explained it. "I'm not sure," Callie answered. "I really don't know how that works."

Michelle smiled. "Regardless, Callie you just continue to surprise me."

"I hope that's a good thing."

"It is," Michelle nodded as she finished the pancakes. "This just makes me happier and happier that my daughter found you."

"Thank you," Callie answered proudly with a smile.

"I used to think Jaelynn had bad taste in women," Michelle teased.

"Mom!"

"What? You didn't do too well until you met Callie."

"Mom, we don't need to talk about my dating life."

Michelle ignored her daughter and instructed both Callie and Jada to fill their plates with breakfast. "Eat up," Michelle added. "I know you two have a long day ahead of you."

They would be going around Los Angeles today to film some of Jada's Stories from the Battle Bus documentary. Jada was excited, and even more so that her wife would be in it.

"Thank you," Callie said to both of them. "I didn't know how much I missed having breakfast with my family until I saw all this."

"This is a 'thank you' for you Callie. For taking such good care of my daughter."
