Jada slowly opened her eyes when she heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. She had drifted off to a light sleep a few minutes ago.
It was day two and Jada's head wasn't feeling that much better. She noticed a difference, but it wasn't as much of a difference as she'd hoped.
Callie came out of the bathroom, freshly showered and her long dark hair brushed out until it was nearly straight. Jada loved her wife's wavy hair, but seeing it straight was a rare and pretty hot sight.
"Did you get any sleep?" Callie asked as she came to join Jada in bed.
"A few minutes," she answered quietly.
Jada did not like how much she'd been sleeping the last few days. Callie would occasionally wake her up to check on her, but Jada slept most of the day away. Callie had also explained that this sleep pattern was normal for someone with a concussion, especially as severe as the one Jada had. The brain's main source of healing was through sleep.
She turned onto her side as Callie laid down behind her. Jada would bet that she had gotten more cuddles in the past 48 hours from her wife than since they met. She had found herself falling asleep much easier and quicker when Callie was with her opposed to when Callie wasn't.
"Why don't you get a little more sleep?" Callie asked quietly. "Then when you wake up I'll have dinner ready for you."
"Okay," Jada answered. "Don't go anywhere. I want your cuddles babe."
"I'm not going anywhere."
Jada slowly turned over so she was now facing Callie. She buried her face into her wife's neck and immediately relaxed. Jada had been nervous that Callie would figure out what she had done while she was in the shower. It had been the first time Jada broke the rules and would most likely be the last unless her recovery took a turn for the worse.
As she went to throw her arm across her wife's chest, Callie caught her hand. "Did you really?"
Jada's face was plastered with a guilty smile. Callie definitely knew.
Callie gave her a disappointed look. "Jaelynn, you need to be careful."
"I know baby, but I need you bad and I know you won't, so I have to do it myself."
"Jada-"
"Callie, we haven't had sex in four days," she whispered.
"You can't be stressing yourself out like that. That's so much mental stimulation you don't need right now."
"I know Callie, I know," Jada repeated. "I just can't go this long without having sex with you. It wasn't very long, I got myself pretty quick thinking of you."
"You think I don't want to have sex?" Callie asked. "I want to so badly. But I can't do that right now. It's too much for your head."
"At least touch me Callie," Jada pleaded. "Please baby."
"Okay," Callie answered quietly. "Please tell me when you need me. I'll help you, but we have to be careful."
"You are the best Callie."
"I wouldn't say the best, I-"
"Calliope, you are the best. I don't know what I'd do without you." She continued. "I don't want anything or anyone more than I want you. And I don't think I can put into words how much I love you."
Jada gently kissed Callie and was excited when Callie kissed her back. She wasn't expecting that reaction from her wife, but Jada happily accepted her tongue.
"I can never get enough kisses from you," Callie whispered.
"Me either."
Jada then asked, "can I get a lot more kisses and cuddles tonight?"
"Absolutely."

Jada woke up from her fifth nap of the day to her wife's lips on her cheek and forehead. She happily groaned and smiled while refusing to open her eyes.
"Dinner's ready," Callie whispered. "I made chicken piccata, your favorite."
"Hi baby," Jada replied as she blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the dim room.
"What's got you all happy?"
"You," Jada told her wife before giving her a gentle kiss.
"I made you something," Callie said as she gently helped Jada into a sitting position. "I am willing to compromise here. You've been getting around pretty well, I don't think I need to be with you every time. We can be intimate. Not very intimate, but I will give you what you need. As long as you promise to wear this when you're up by yourself."
"Callie, do I want to know?"
Callie reached behind herself and showed Jada some bubble wrap contraption. "What the hell is this?"
"It's a helmet," Callie answered proudly. "In case you stumble or something you can't hit that precious head of yours."
"You are insane if you think I'm wearing that."
"You wear it, or no sex," Callie answered with a smile.
Jada just stared at the thing. It was made of bubble wrap, taped together in all sorts of places. She saw a cut up pool noodle attached around the sides of the makeshift helmet. There was a rubber band chinstrap and the thing looked ratchet as hell.
"Sometimes I question my sanity when I agreed to marry you," Jada teased with a smile.
"Excuse me!?"
"Callie how long did it take you to make that?"
"A few minutes why?"
Jada's smile widened. "You're so cute baby. Although I am not wearing that."
"I meant what I said earlier Jaelynn. If you don't want to wear it, us having sexy time is a no no."
She hugged Callie. "Gosh I love you."
"I love you," Callie replied before adding. "Plus I figured it would be fun to look back at the pictures I'm planning on taking of you wearing the helmet when this is all over."
Jada protested. "If I'm not allowed to use my phone then neither are you."
"That's not starting yet."
Callie quickly put the helmet on Jada's head and snapped a few quick pictures. "Okay, game on now."
