Jada relaxed against the pillow with her wife sitting up against her chest. It was nearing six in the morning and the sun was barely starting to peak up outside. She was enjoying the roles being reversed for once, not that Callie was hurt, but that she got to take care of Callie like Callie did for her all the time.

The strong, independent, beautiful, and badass woman Jada was so in love with, swallowed her pride and allowed Jada to take care of her. She really appreciated how quickly Callie backed down and allowed Jada to help her. Jada knew how her wife was, and she felt honored that she was the only person to see all sides of Callie, not just the badass side. Yeah, badass Callie was really hot, but so was the woman Jada shared most of her life with.

"You doing okay baby?" Jada asked quietly into her wife's ear.

Callie nodded. "The medicine is really starting to kick in."

"I'm assuming the pain is still really bad?"

"Not really. It's gotten a lot better." Callie then added. "Thank you babe."

Jada kissed the top of her wife's head. "You don't need to thank me baby. You do the same for me all the time."

She heard Callie chuckle. "That's my job," she answered teasingly. "And I wouldn't trade it for the world."

"Calliope, have I told you how much of a sweetheart you are lately?"

Callie leaned back into her chest and looked up at her wife. "You remind me every day."

Jada leaned forward and kissed her wife's lips. "I love you," she whispered. "You know that? I can't even describe how much I love you."

"Neither can I," Callie replied. "I am so deeply in love with you."

"Who would've thought?" Jada thought aloud. "You and I?"

"Hey, it happened for a reason. We were meant to be together. And I'm so grateful we are."

Jada kissed her again. "I remember when I saw your face the first time."

"You told me I was hot not even 30 seconds after that," Callie teased.

"I'm not wrong," Jada teased back. "I refused to believe in love at first sight. But then you came along and it is real."

"You were pretty cute too," Callie said. "I wanted to, but I couldn't say it then because it would be unprofessional of me."

"You can tell me all you want now."

"Don't you worry," Callie then continued. "You probably don't remember me that day, but I was there. And you walked past me. Then eventually I could tell something was up so I had to focus on that instead of you. I followed you to your car to make sure you left safely. That's why I was there so fast. I didn't know what it was at the time but I just knew I needed to protect you."

"You were following me?" Jada asked in disbelief. "Calliope, why didn't you ever tell me this story?"

Callie smiled up at her wife. "I was saving it for a special time like this."

"Calliope..."

"I remember when I got you out of there. You were shaking and so terrified, and you actually left marks on my arms from how tight you were holding on to me. And I felt bad that I had to go. I wanted to hold you and tell you that you were safe. But I couldn't. So I knew I had to find you again. I missed a jump like a dumbass and that's why I crash landed on your porch."
