The sky was young and blue when the train stopped. I gently woke Ginny up from my shoulder; she looked like a child, young as the day she was born. Her pale skin proved her worries and anxiety as we were escorted to the hospital by an attendant.
When we finally arrived at the hospital, we were all greeted by hugs from a tired but persistent Mrs.Weasley. She told us that Mr.Weasley was doing much better than before and was recovering well, however he was sleeping so we should wait to visit him for another hour or so.
"Mrs.Weasley, you should really get some sleep," I urged. Her eyes showed tiredness from stress and worry for her husband who she loved oh so much.
"Oh no dear, it's alright. Can I get you anything however? Tea, water, biscuits..." I shook my head no, and I earned more respect for Mrs.Weasley than I already had. She had her flaws but at the end of the day, was kind and family oriented.
"Mrs.Weasley, it's ok to take care of yourself! Here,I'll ask the nurse to get you a room." I stood up and went to find a nurse to get a guest room for her.
The nurse happily obliged and even helped me force Mrs.Weasley and her children into the room. When she began walking away, I chased after the nurse.
"Yes dear?"
I paused before realizing I should just ask anyways. " I've been having a persistent headache, can you please get me something for that?"
I gave me a smile of pity. " I'll have a doctor check you real quick and then I'll get you a potion of some sorts." She picked something out of a bowl. " Would you like a cauldron cake dear?" I nod a quick no, to which she responds by smiling and waving a doctor over.
The doctor was a tall, thin lady who had auburn hair and dark brown eyes and light freckles, the kind of girl you'd expect to have a sweet personality, her voice certainly suited the part.
After a quick examination, she determined it was because of stress and just gave me a small potion to help with the headache. It was like magic, getting rid of the horrible aching in my head, yet the horrible feeling of dread was still in my stomach.
I took the remaining amount of the potion to a depressed Harry, I'm sure his scar was also aching. He nodded in a quick thanks before returning to staring at his incomplete charms homework.
"Need help with that?" I sat down next to him and peered at the 5 remaining questions he had. "Oh come on Harry, you know the answers to all of these!"
He shook his head, no, expressing that he didn't. "Are you for real Harry? You've used ALL these spells before, and I'm pretty sure Hermione gave you enough lectures that you've remembered all of it by now." He again shook his head no while continuously tapping his pen against the paper. "You know.... words really help, I don't speak bobble head."
He groaned in frustration before just scribbling down a completely incorrect answer. "I really don't care Snow, can you just leave me alone?" I have to bite my lip to suppress my laugh.
"Harry, being the emo kid doesn't suit you, you should just stick to being Mr.Grumpy Pants," I nudge his shoulder with a slight laugh in an attempt to cheer him up, but he's persistent in being a depressed, emo kid. I sigh, and just walk out of the room. It seems like the hospital blues are spreading to everyone.
Ginny ran up to me just a second after I exited to room, dragging me while screaming, "He's awake! He's awake!" It took me a second to realize she was talking about her father before I ran off with her. He was shifting in his bed, trying to down a glass of water. Mrs.Weasley was next to her, holding his hand in reassurance.
"DAD!" Ginny yelled before embracing him lightly around the shoulders. "Thank god you're alright!"
All the other Weasley kids quickly burst in and ran right past me to greet their father. His voice was gruffy but still contained the classic goofy Arthur Weasley tone in it. I smiled at him once the kids cleared up. "Glad to see you're doing good Mr.Weasley," I say.
He flashed me a smile of gratefulness. "It's thanks to you I'm alive and well, thank you."
The moment in the hospital room definitely helped me get in higher spirits again, but the moment I exited his room, I felt the gloom settling over once again. I went over to the room we were staying in, and grabbed parchment out of the desk and began writing. I wrote a very brief summary as to what happened and where I was before signing it off to Loren. I didn't have much energy to write a full on essay to him, but I managed to write about a paragraph. I went to the owlery and got the letter delivered to him. I watched in dread as the owl flew off, knowing full well how panicky Loren would be.
When I made it back to the room, I collapsed onto the bed. I felt a presence over my head and opened my eyes to be greeted by Harry. "Who's the depressed emo kid now?" I quickly threw a pillow at his head.
"Don't be a smartass with me Harry," I proceed back onto the bed and belly flop onto it.
"Give me room, I need sleep to you know?" He tried pushing me off the bed but to no avail. "GET OFF!" I snickered at his struggled attempts to get me off the bed. After many failed, embarrassing attempts, he just gave up and flopped down next to me, covering the back of his head with a pillow. I looked over to the calendar and saw it was already September 28th, more than a month has passed by since 5th year started. We were going to go back to Hogwarts tomorrow, and I couldn't wait, it was so, incredibly boring here.
Just as I was about to doze off, I was disrupted by the hoot of an owl. I groaned at the sight of the owl I sent to Hogwarts, and sat up quickly. "How the hell did he respond so fast?" I take the letter from the owl and read its contents. I almost gasp in shock when I see he isn't lecturing me. All he does it tell me he hopes I'm ok and misses me. I almost laugh in relief, thanking the heavens I didn't have to face an unwanted lecture.
Sorry for not updating yesterday, I was at Universal Studios, and I tried the butterbeer there! Tbh, it was good but then after a few sips, the aftertaste was TOO weird. So this chapter ended abruptly, I understand, but better chapters are on their way! ( May or may not have a 🔥 one coming up hehe)
