Luna's POV:

"I got you!" I tackled Ginny to the ground who was screaming in protest. "How is it that you're a very fit quidditch player yet you can't outrun me?"

"I LET, you catch me. I didn't want to hurt your feelings!" I shook my head in mock disappointment before attacking her arms with my soft nails.

"Stop tickling me for god's sake!" She laughed at the sensation before finally lightly pushing me off. I fell into a heap next to her, both of us becoming a laughing mess. "God, you're evil!" I turned my head  to the side to look at her and simply gave a mischievous smile.

"I know I am!" For a while, the two of us just laid down in the meadow, looking up at the trees above us. Ginny and I have been hanging out at each other's houses. It has been wonderful if I'm being honest. We've never slept over during the summer, but we make the most out of the time we get together. We have fun moments, like these and then moments of complete and beautiful vulnerability with each other.

"Did you do it yet?" I looked over at Ginny, and I knew she meant if I came out to my father yet. We told Ginny's parents and family a while back, and they were nothing but supportive, as suspected. I shook my head no. "Don't feel pressured to do it. You don't have to tell him if you don't want too-"

"No," I cut her off. "I want too. I know he'll be fine with it but I worry he'll see me or treat me differently. But tonight. Tonight I will do it. And the moment I do I will owl you." Ginny sat up and pulled me up to my feet. She hugged me tight and I felt her smile against my shoulder.

"You better," she simply mumbled. She pulled away from the hug, the smile still on her face. "Mother will be expecting me, I should get going now." She gave me a quick peck on my lips goodbye before leaving. Soon, after I could no longer see her red hair, I was left alone. It was now or never. I started walking in the direction of my house until I reached the door to my house. It was already unlocked and when I stepped in, I saw my dad reading the paper at this desk.

"Hi Dad!" I said cheerfully. Better to start off with a cheerful mood, I suppose.

"Hello Luna dear! C'mon, have a seat, I made tea." I sat down on the chair opposite to him and picked up the tea, taking a sip. The warm liquid went down my throat, calming me down slightly. "Had a good time with Ginny?" This is it. This is my greenlight to tell him.

"Yeah I did!" I said brightly, trying to figure out how to say it. Eventually I decided just flat out saying it would be best. "Actually, there's something I need to tell you about Ginny, Dad." He hummed, showing that he was listening, but he was still focused on the paper. "This is actually really important..."

"I see-" He put down the paper on the table and looked at me attentively.

"Uhm.... Well a couple months ago, or not a couple months ago, since the beginning of 5th year really, I've been having different urm... changes in me." He raised an eyebrow in confusion, but prompted me to go on. "And at first I was really confused, but then, once I understood, everything suddenly felt right."

"Luna... what are you trying to get at?"

"Ginny and I.... we're dating. I- I'm gay." I did it. I dropped the gay bomb. He immediately stands up and starts packing around the kitchen. "Dad?" I ask worried.

"I don't- how? Why?"

"There's not really a why, Dad, it just is! And I dunno, I guess I just realized. Ginny had come to terms with her bisexuality and she helped me through all these complicated feelings! Please... Dad, tell me you're ok with this?"

He sighed and rubbed a hand through his hair. "It- it's a lot to process. I'm certainly not mad but it's definitely something I wasn't expecting. J- just give me some time, please."  My heart dropped as I slowly nodded and headed to my room. I wanted nothing more than to feast on chocolate frogs and cry, but instead, I remember my promise to Ginny and begin writing her a letter.

Dear Ginny,

I did it! I came out to him. He said he doesn't hate me... which is good, I guess. But you should've seen the look on his face, he was so shocked. I'm worried he won't accept this. For now he said he needs time to process it. I'm worried.

Love, Luna.

I send off the letter to my owl as a few tears of anxiety fall out of my eyes.

A: Sour Patch or Reese's.

This was a bit more of an emotionally challenging chapter...
