(ENG) Chapter Four - Cat and Mouse

Suphan Buri, May 7, 2015...

Phana ran 5 km from school to Singto's house through the rain and strong winds, because the man had not come to school for three days and his cell phone could not be reached. Once arrived, he was shocked to see a sign in front of Singto's house that read "this house is for sale."

Instantly Phana felt as if his world was collapsing, he didn't want to believe it, but the electricity in the house was still on. He then shouted for Singto, hoping that there was still someone in the house. Yet ten minutes passed, and no one answered or came out.

Phana considered for a moment and tried to open the gate, but it was locked, he then looked left and right before climbing the fence. Phana called Singto again and banged on the front door, but there was still no answer. He then headed to the backyard and looked for the key that Singto had hidden in the pot so he could enter and leave the house without telling his parents.

Phana's entire body was drenched, after success getting into the house he immediately got a bad feeling when he saw all the counters were empty. But he still held hope in his heart, and sneaks into the living room, but was again disappointed to see that the whole house was empty, and all the remaining furniture was covered with cloth.

Phana looked back and was startled to see the trail of water mixed with mud he had left along the path from the kitchen to the living room. But he didn't have time to worry about that, and immediately went up to the second floor, hoping to find the person he was looking for even though his hope was empty because Singto's bedroom window looked dark from the outside.

Phana tried to dry his wet hands by wiping them on his pants before touching the knob tremblingly, his heart was pounding, and his chest felt tight, not ready to accept the truth.

When the door opened, Phana stood frozen staring blankly inside, and was pensive for a moment, he stomped his feet on the floor to clean his shoes before stepping inside.

Phana looked around and found that the room left only a wardrobe, shelf, table, and a large empty space, but the mattress and sheets still look neat and nice, Pha's tears flowed down unconsciously.

He took a deep breath and walked to the front of the window, staring out at the pouring rain. He accidentally saw the reflection of the mattress from the glass and suddenly all the memories that happened in that room were visualized in his head, making him smile like a fool, but the sound of thunder shattered his imagination instantly.

Instantly his tears flowed down without being able to be dammed as if there were thousands of needles piercing his chest, he closed the curtains and fell slowly leaning against the wall, hugging his knees and crying profusely.

In sobs, Pha took out his cell phone and tried to call Singto again, but the response was still the same. Frustration and emotions gathered into one, he threw his phone strongly to vent his emotion. The phone hit the side of the bed before crashing to the floor and sinking under the bed.

Pha closed his eyes, replaying all his memories, starting from the first time they met until three days ago. Today was exactly 3 months since their relationship began, and he can't believe Singto left him in this way. Even though they had promised to celebrate graduation together and go to the same campus together, yet, now it seems that everything is left only the promise.

After calming down, Pha devised a plan to find information on where Singto and his family had gone. He woke up and looked for his cell phone, when he reached under the bed, he accidentally found a crumpled paper.
