(ENG) Chapter Twenty-One - First Girlfriend

That afternoon, Singto met a prospective client who asked him to watch a baseball game, so he invited Phana, because the man really liked football when he was in school.

"You don't know that baseball and football are different?" protested Phana when they arrived in front of the baseball stadium.

"The point is the ball!" Singto emphasized.

Phana rolled his eyes lazily and didn't want to argue, then changed the topic, "By the way, is your prospective client an athlete?"

"Er, I don't know..."

"You don't find out client information first before prospecting?" asked Phana in disbelief, but suddenly he was curious about one thing, "Wait, is your potential client male or female? Is he or she already married?"

Singto was dumbfounded, "Why are you asking that?" he looked at him suspiciously and returned the question, "Are you jealous?"

Er, no, why would I be jealous?" Pha gasped while swallowing his saliva, "Never mind," he felt stupid with his question.

Singto smiled at his reaction, then took out his cell phone and introduced a short profile of the prospective client he was going to meet.

"Her name is Araya Suppasara, she is 25 years old, a young entrepreneur who has founded a start-up company engaged in the culinary field."

Phana was stunned for a moment when he saw the girl's photo on Singto's cellphone.

"You know her?" asked Singto who noticed the change in Phana's expression.

Pha didn't answer and diverted the subject, "How did you get information about her?"

"Er, from another client, I've met her a few times, she's just like you, very enthusiastic about baseball, but I have no idea what she's talking about."

"When did I say I like baseball?" snapped Pha, "What I like is football, remember that!" he snorted in annoyance.

But before Singto had time to reply, suddenly the person they were talking about appeared from a distance and walked with big strides toward them.

"Sorry, I'm late, the match hasn't started yet, right?" she asked and suddenly froze when she saw Phana.

"Phana?" she greeted in surprise.

"Er, hello..." Pha replied with an awkward smile.

"You guys know each other?" asked Singto in surprise.

"I and Phana used to date in college," answered the girl to the point.

"What?" Singto exclaimed and turned to Phana.

"I didn't think we would meet again in this place," said the girl, smiling at Pha. The man seemed hypnotized staring at the girl in front of him without blinking, then smiled back. Araya was the first girl he dated after Singto left. 

"It's been six or seven years?" asked the girl to Pha. "Do you still remember me?"

"Of course, I still remember," answered Pha nervously.

This suddenly made the fire of jealousy in Singto's chest flare up instantly, "Ehem..." he cleared his throat making the man gasp and reflexively turned to him with a shocked expression.

Araya turned to Singto and said, "You ever asked me why I like baseball, right? Though I'm a woman," then glanced back at Pha and replied, "Phana is the reason, he was the first to introduce baseball to me."

Singto didn't want to believe it, he glared at Pha with a questioning expression, the man swallowed hard and tried to calm down.

The girl continued, "But all of a sudden he said that he liked soccer, didn't like baseball, then broke up with me," then laughed bitterly.
