Phana is teaching Singto the points that must be considered when claiming insurance, as well as showing him examples of claim cases that are often faced by agents and how to deal with these problems.
"Most of the clients never open let alone read the contents of the insurance policy that was sent to them after the application was approved, this is what causes misunderstandings and problems when claiming insurance," said Phana.
Singto paid attention to the thick book which was an example of a health insurance policy in front of him and sighed heavily before opening it and looking at its contents. He seemed to be reading a scientific paper, he thought.
"What do you know about insurance benefits?" Phana threw a question at him when he saw the title of the chapter Singto was reading.
"Er..." Singto's mind went blank when he was asked that question, he cleared his throat and thought for a moment. "As a guarantee, if admitted to the hospital or get accident ..." he answered carelessly.
Phana immediately put on a dumbfounded and surprised face and wondered how Singto could pass the test to become an agent.
"Besides that?" asked Phana, then straightened his sitting position and crossed his legs under the table waiting for Singto's answer.
"Er..." Singto racked his brain again, trying to remember the material he learned when he was about to take the exam as an agent, "As investment and savings, and to minimize the risk of loss if something happens..."
"What you mentioned were just the general benefits of insurance," said Pha, "There are many types of insurance in society that offer different benefits according to the needs of each individual, but the point is insurance offers a feeling of calm."
Singto nodded in understanding and didn't comment.
Pha then showed him several problematic claim case files, "However, there are many examples of insurance cases that cannot be claimed, both due to client error and the insurance provider, thereby reducing public trust in insurance."
"Like Mr. Thongtawan's case?"
Phana nodded in approval. "From rumors circulating, the agent secretly replaced the insurance beneficiary's name by forging Mr. Thongtawan's signature, even though the culprit has been jailed, until now insurance claims cannot be disbursed for various reasons."
"No wonder Mrs. Thongtawan doesn't believe in insurance," commented Singto.
"Therefore, as agents, we need to study and master the details of all information about insurance products, and convey it in detail and clearly to prospective customers before signing the application form."
Suddenly Singto pressed his stomach which feels uncomfortable.
"You're not feeling well?" asked Pha, then closed the insurance policy in front of Singto and put it away.
Singto responded by shaking his head and saying he was fine.
"You better have some rest if you're sick because you don't have insurance if you go to the hospital," Pha reminded him.
"Are you going to let me die?"
Phana shortly looked straight at him with a surprised expression, then replied with a smile, "Don't worry, I won't let you die before you pay off your debt."
"I don't have money," Singto said frankly, he paused for a second and continued, "But I can insure my life to repay my debt to you."
Phana thought for a moment, trying to interpret the sentence, "You mean you want to devote your life to me?" he asked jokingly.
