Its been about four months now since Thatch came to earth, thanks to [y/n]'s help he was able to get on his feet in no time. Thatch was able to blend in with the humans well, from time to time his wings did give him trouble wings like his took longer to heal on earth than they would back home. But luckily [y/n] had no idea what he was and he was planning on keeping it like that as well.

Thatch became a part owner in [y/n]'s business just a small little café she ran that was owned by her parents and her grandparents, so he was happy he could help her out since it use to be slow but ever since Thatch came along and started cooking thing's changed. Right now it was just it normal busy morning, [y/n] was cleaning tables with help from her best friend Robin who always liked helping out here it was her favorite place for a good time to read books; she was taking orders as [y/n] cleaned tables.

She carried the load of dishes to the back sighing heavily from the heavy load of dishes before passing them on to the washer to clean the again for more food.

"You sure you don't need a break?" Thatch asked as he turned his attention to her as she collected more plates to take out.

"Nah, we're almost done anyways" she smiled brightly at him before vanishing outside.

Thatch could only chuckle, she was always full of energy even in the morning's. But that was one thing he loved about her, wait? Love? He couldn't help but pause when his mind thought about that one word, that one feeling that he shouldn't be feeling towards a mortal like her. It was forbidden to love a mortal but there was just something about her that made him feel this way and he didn't understand why.

The rush was over and it was just a calm time before the lunch rush would start up. [Y/n] and Robin were going over the tips as they relaxed their feet, that's when the door bell rang telling them someone came inside.

"Welcome, is there anything I can help you with?" [y/n] asked as she stood up from one of the tables with a bright smile.

"Thatch wouldn't be working today is he?" the man asked her looking as humanely as ever as he gave off a warm smile to her.

"Oh yes, I'll go get him" she said before going to the kitchen and through the back, sometimes Thatch would be behind the café smoking. Since he wasn't mortal it didn't danger him or lingers of smoke to long.

"Hey someone is asking for you" [y/n] popped her head out half way when she opened the door.

"Someone huh? Alright" he raised a brow before shrugging and stomping out the smoke before following her back through the kitchen and to the front.

When they reached the front [y/n] couldn't help but notice how Thatch paused a bit behind her, glancing behind her she saw a look she never saw on his face before; the look held many emotions that she couldn't name fast enough as Thatch looked at the man waiting for him.

"Hello Marco" Thatch said as he crossed his arms together, it wasn't like anything bad happened between them but what happened back at his home made him question his brother's.

"No need to use that tone Thatch I'm just here to talk" Marco held his hands up showing he didn't want anything to do with a fight right now.

"We'll let you two talk in private" [y/n] said as she motioned for Robin to follow her back into the kitchen to clean up.

Once they both left the room the tension was being let out now; Thatch didn't know what to say or even think right now seeing his brother Marco in front of him; its been four months and he was now just showing up to what? Not once did he hear anything from Pops or his other brother's.

"So you show up after what happened?" Thatch held a bit of bitterness as he uncrossed his arms.

"Come on, you must know that we thought you were dead; Teach used a damn holy blade against you" Marco sighed heavily knowing Thatch was going to go that way, it was true they thought he was dead after what they found out.

"So now you're just finding out I'm alive? That bastard damaged one of my wings then pushed me out" Thatch argued keeping his voice down since he didn't wish for [y/n] to hear this, he thought he would lose her if she knew what he was.

"How damaged is it?" Marco asked since a damaged wing can become serious if not healed right.

"Not fully healed but I can't do much, but what did Pops do to Teach?" Thatch rolled his shoulders feeling the sourness there still, but changed the topic to what punishment Teach would get.

"He vanished before we could get him, but we are hunting him. Right now we need to find a way to get you back home" Marco placed his hands on his hips knowing that answer was something he didn't want to hear.

"I'll try..." was all Thatch could say when he cast his eyes away from Marco giving off a look Marco never saw in his brother before.

"You love her don't you?" was all Marco had to say to get the reaction he was looking for with Thatch, the quick glance and shocked look was all Marco needed to know.

"Your crazy, there is nothing happening between us" Thatch said wanting to walk away from Marco and the topic itself. But Marco made Thatch turn towards him to make him look at Marco.

"You need to just be aware to not let it become something, I know you and I know how attached to people you get; she can never find out what you are about anything about the world you come from make sure you keep that in mind" Marco explained as he looked at Thatch in the eyes wanting to make sure that he understood that everything would be different if any human knew that angels or demons were real.

Marco gave him a pat on the shoulder before turning around leaving the café, Thatch could help but sigh heavily knowing that his life was something that [y/n] couldn't be apart of and feeling the ache in his heart when he thought about her; made him know that what he felt for her was real and maybe the only true real thing he will ever feel to anyone.
