Teen Shanks x Mermaid Reader [Part Of Your World]

Being a mermaid can be very hard sometimes, hiding deep under the waters, being hunted down by bounty hunters or even pirates for your scales or being sold off as auction. It can be very hard and for you it was hard because you wanted to explore the surface and wondering what it was like to be a human even for a day you just wanted to know what it was like.

But many other of your fellow mer-folk didn't agree with your train of thought, it was one of the reasons why you left Fishman Island since you were always avoided and always being bullied for what you wanted.

Through out your journey through the sea waters below you've come across a few interesting things, but you enjoyed yourself none the less but there was something or someone who caught your eye one day when you came to the surface; you came across the famous Gold D. Rogers ship one night after hearing some music and some laughter coming from the ship, so you went up close to it to see what was going on and that's when you saw him.

Red Hair Shanks, something about him caught your attention not to mention your heart; he had a bright smile that was always there listening to his voice and laugh made your heart flutter to life when you would listen to him talk to his fellow crew members about their adventures. You were deep in love with the young pirate even though your heart was captured by Shanks you know that nothing could come out of this. You were a mermaid and he was human two lives that were so different nothing could ever happen between you both.

During one night when you swam under the water you could see the surface water was thrashing around with a storm that started one night; so you stayed under water until the sight of a ship came to your eyes and you knew that ship very well which made you surface above the water seeing Rogers ship sailing in the storm; hearing the crew run around on deck trying to keep the ship floating through the storm until it ended. 

You swam up a bit close to it hearing everyone yelling out to each other checking if things were alright, you worried for everyone on the ship since they seem so nice when you were drift along side the ship from time to time.

"SHANKS!" the sound of one of the crew members shouted out which brought your attention to seeing Shanks falling off of the ship over the railing when a strong wave pushed him over.

You moved quickly towards him as the waves kept crashing down on him pushing him back down every second letting him take in some water which made him pass out from the lack of air in his lungs. Swimming close to him you grabbed his arm and pulled him up to the surface swimming towards a shore that was near.

Dragging you both up onto the beach you laid him down seeing he was still breathing which made you relax as you sat beside him through the stormy night making sure he was alright until the storm slowly calmed down and the sun was soon high in the sky; You still were by Shanks watching him still sleep off what happened last night you know his crew would come and find him soon but staying here with him was nice just you and him even though he never knew that you were real and watching him from afar under the waters he sailed but you still loved him.

"What would I do to see you Smiling at me? Where would we walk? Where would we run? If we could stay all day in the sun? Just you and me If I could be Part of your world" You gently sang as you looked at him placing your hand on his cheek seeing his eyes were slowly opening as you sang still, his vision was a bit blurred but hearing your voice and the sight of someone over him was something he thought would never happen the sight of your [E/C] eyes were the only things that came to meet his eyes.

"Shanks! Shanks" the voice of someone looking for him made you glance to the shore before suddenly vanishing into the waters when Shanks slowly sat up not seeing you before you vanished into the waters.

"Damn man, thought everyone thought you were done for" Buggy came into the clearing when he saw Shanks sitting on the shore.

"did you see anyone here?" Shanks asked when he looked around wondering if what he heard or saw was a dream.

"Nope just you, lucky" Buggy said when he helped him stand up on his feet again.

"There had to be someone here, I heard them singing and their eyes I never saw them that color before" Shanks explained knowing he wasn't crazy in what he saw.

"right, I think you drank to much sea water lets head back" Buggy said thinking Shanks was a bit crazy after what happened as he started walking back to the ship on the other side of the short island.

Shanks sighed as he turned and started following Buggy through the island forest, unknown to them both that you were watching them from the rocks just a few feet away from them never looking away from Shanks as you crawled onto the rocks to sit on them with a warm smile on your face that never left.

"I don't know when, I don't know how But I know something's starting right now; Watch and you'll see....Someday I'll be, Part of your world!!!" You sang to your self having your smile grow as your heart flutter thinking of Shanks as you watched him from your area on the rocks on the sea.
