Shanks x Reader [Part Of Your World] [2]

Ever since that day I didn't see much of Shanks or his crew after the death of the pirate king happened and weeks turned to months and months turned into years and now it has been teen years since I last saw him, I doubt he remembers the day he almost drowned and I saved him but that was fine he still held my heart no matter how long the years go on.

Now being twenty six I found myself swimming around a a small island and village called Windmill Village it was a nice area to swim around and just watch the people do there every day life; one day when I was swimming around I could hear some children talking which made me wonder what they were speaking about but come to my surprise they were picking on a young boy looking to be only seven. The next thing I know he was pushed into the water as the other children laughed at him, I swam over being under water they didn't see me when I suddenly splashed the children with water the sound alone freaked them out and they ran away.

That's how I met Luffy and became fast friends with him; he was a bright young boy with lots of dreams and I admired that it made me think about if I had the courage back then what would it be like to actual talk to Shanks and be by his side. 

After a couple of weeks a ship came sailing into the harbor but I didn't think much about as I watched it from the rocks I hanged around that was just east from the village where no one could see me unless it was Luffy. Seeing the ship drop anchor the crew was coming off of the ship, watching them walk from the harbor the sight of red caught my attention which brought my eyes to look which made my [E/C] eyes widen in shock; it was Shanks after all this time I finally got to see him again.

He looked just as handsome as ever when I last saw him, only with three scars over his left eye and he still wore that straw hat which made me smile knowing in my heart that he didn't change much after ten years.

Unknown what happened on land I didn't know Luffy was telling Shanks about me but some people thought he was just dreaming about it but inside the Bar Luffy was once against talking about me to Shanks as they sat at the bar as Makino just chuckled hearing this story so many times.

"One day some kids were picking on me but I fought them off and they pushed me into the water, the next thing I knew something scared them off" Luffy spoke this story to Shanks telling him the first time.

"Let me guess it was a dog that scared them" Shanks laughed thinking this was just a normal every day Luffy story.

"Nope it was a mermaid a real one" Luffy said with a bright smile on his face.

"Now Luffy you know Mermaids aren't real" Makino said with a warm smile thinking it was his child mind at work.

"No seriously she's really nice her fin and scales are blue and silver its supper cool, of and she has [H/L] [H/C] hair too" Luffy said looking at Makino wanting her to believe him since he knew I was real.

Something about this made Shanks pause for a moment bringing his mind back to seeing someone that day when he was saved by someone; the one question he had to ask to know if it was them or not.

"What were they're eye color?" Shanks asked when he paused with his drink and he never did that.

"Oh um they were [E/C] eyes they really shine in the light" Luffy said thinking about the color and that was the hook for Shanks when he knew it was her.

"Do you know where she hangs out?" Shanks asked wanting to know if she was still around here since he never stopped thinking about her.

"Around the rocks east of the village, want to go meet her?" Luffy said before beaming with joy wanting to go see her with Shanks.

"We'll see her later kiddo" Shanks said to Luffy with his bright smile.

I sat on the shore with my tail slightly in the waters as I enjoyed looking at the stars for tonight; I looked over towards Shanks ship seeing it was still there. I smiled to myself trying to figure out if I should swim up there or not, my thoughts were broken when I heard footsteps coming this way and it wasn't Luffy since he always yelled out my name. In a panic I went into the waters against and his behind the rocks hearing the footsteps stopped by the shore. 

"I know your here its alright you can come out" it was Shanks voice that came to my ears which made me shock knowing he was here Luffy must have said something, my heart was racing when I took a breath in and out before slowly peaking out from the rocks seeing him standing there with a warm smile that came to his face when he saw me.

"Hello [Y/N]....." he said to me with that smile that made me blush once again Luffy told him my name I love the kid as a brother but he did have a big mouth.

"Hello Shanks" I said swimming a bit more out from the rocks.

Shanks sat down on the grass as I swam a bit closer to him I couldn't help but smile when we were finally meeting for the first time; my heart was pounding I swear it was going to burst any moment now.

"I thought I would never find you" Shanks said to me as we stared at each other for the longest time.

"You didn't have to look for me" I said trying to keep my cool but I'm sure I was failing.

"Why not? I wouldn't be able to thank you properly" he said raising a brow before smiling brighter and chuckling a bit.

I wanted to speak but I was suddenly cut off by his lips meeting mine, taking me by surprise a moment before I closed my eyes and kissed him back letting the sweet and warm kiss last longer; I was on cloud nine right here and now as we shared this kiss.

"Thank you for saving me that day" Shanks gently spoke once our lips parted from the kiss.

"Your welcome, I couldn't let the man I love leave this world" I said getting the courage to telling him how I felt even if he didn't love me back I still said it to him.

"I love you too, from the moment I saw you that day" Shanks said as he placed his hand on my cheek.

I smiled warmly as I leaned into his touch before he kissed me once more on the lips letting our romantic moment last as long as we could; one thing is for sure I'm not leaving his side ever again for as long as I live.
