My Dangerous Criminal [Future Book]

I didn't know how it happened it just happened, one moment I was closing up the diner where I worked and then the next thing, I was grabbed from behind which made me scream in surprise. I couldn't see their faces, but I could hear their voices and I was beyond frightened by this.

"Open the door, bitch!" the man who grabbed me yelled at me when he shoved me forward at the door.

Shaking in fear I fumbled with the keys trying to open the door as fast as I could for these people who were trying to rob the diner; but who would rob this place? Sure it made good money but I don't know if the boss kept much in the safe in his office.

"In coming!!" one of them shouted which made them all turn with their gun out ready to shoot.

I covered my ears and screamed trying to duck out of the way from the firing bullets that were flying all around me. I tried running out of that mess of bullets, but I suddenly felt a pain go right through my body which made me freeze from my running away. Looking down I saw I was shot in the stomach seeing the blood slowly ooze out before I dropped onto the ground, letting my hearing start to buzz while my sight was fading in and out from being blurry; before passing out I saw someone stand over me and hear him shouting out something, but I passed out before I could figure out, he picked me up taking me somewhere. 

My hearing slowly started to come back when I could hear some beeping of some kind and someone talking; I didn't know where I was or who was with me, but I struggled a bit to open my eyes. Seeing the room wasn't bright like a hospital room was, but I could tell it was night outside while the room was lit up by lamps around the room. I tried moving but I hissed in pain from where I got shot moments ago. 

"Easy, you'll open your injury" a calm and smooth voice spoke to me which brought my attention to a tall blonde man standing in the room writing something down something in a chart I was guessing.

"W-where?" I began to speak but my throat was dry and it made me cough a little bit.

The man came closer to me and offered me a glass of water which I took gladly to get rid of the dryness in my throat. It felt wonderful having the cold water run down my throat taking away the itchy dryness.

"Your safe, once your well you will be able to talk to Pops" the man said while placing the chart on a side table before looking at me and reaching for the covers that covered me.

"W-wait, you mean Pops as in the mafia king?" I questioned with a bit of worry in my tone as the man uncovered my bandages around my stomach taking a look at the stitching that was very well done.

"That's right, my name is Marco; I'm the doctor and first commander of his fleet around the city" he said gently running a wet cotton ball over my stitches which made me hiss a bit as I listened to him introduce himself to me and explaining his role in this.

"So, now what? I guys going to make me work for you?" I asked trying to find out why I would be in this place instead of a hospital.

"Nothing like that, you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time and my brother thought it best to bring you here instead of bringing you in more danger if you were taken to the hospital" He softly chuckled before covering my stomach back up with some fresh bandages which made me relax a small bit.

"So, I'll be free to go?" I asked raising a brow at him trying to find out more helpful clues at all.

"Once you talk to Pops yes, mind telling me your name" he said giving me his full attention now asking for my name.

"Ariel, Ariel Blunt" I introduced myself trying to hide the small blush on my cheeks since he was a handsome devil at that I should say but I wasn't going to see him again I am sure of that.

Not knowing that my life was going to change for the better or worse, not knowing that my name would get me into something so dangerous and fun. But my life changed the moment I met Marco himself the handsome Phoenix a title he lived up to very well.
