Bucky jolted awake. Beads of sweat running down his head and chest he was breathing heavily. He had no idea what to do to calm him down so he moved over to Steve who was next to him still sleeping. Bucky put his flesh arm on Steve's shoulder and shook it a little. Bucky was still breathing in heavily and tears started to form in his eyes.
"S-Steve please wake up" Bucky begged in a whisper hoping not to scare his boyfriend.
Steve groaned and looked over Bucky and then immediately sat up.
"I-I had that dream again..I-I was the winter soldier again.." he choked out as tears continued to run down his cheeks.
Steve pulled Bucky into his arm and laid Bucky's head on his chest.
"It's going to be ok,you're safe I promise."
Bucky took this as an opportunity to start trying to breathe correctly and so breathed in and out slowly trying to calm himself down.
Steve continued to whisper him sweet little nothings to help Bucky calm down and after 20 minutes it was over.
Bucky had fallen asleep on his lovers chest with his arms around his chest as if he was a pillow. Steve simply smiled and kissed his lovers head before falling asleep as well.
