Jada was a little sad to play the teams last flag football game this afternoon. Callie, Luke, Derek, and Jackson had recruited her for this years team and Jada was having so much fun playing quarterback.
Jada found it very thrilling to show up some guys. A lot of them played close defense during the first drive until Jada unleashed a bomb, usually to Callie, and showed that she did have a hell of an arm.
Luke had gotten everybody real Carolina Panthers jerseys and helmets to go along with them. Not that the helmets were really needed, they were just for extra protection to protect against falls and other times the head could possibly hit something.
Callie forced Jada to wear shoulder pads and now, padding around her stomach. Jada didn't mind, having the padding around her stomach made her feel better in case she got pushed or something.
They were beating up on the other team pretty bad, and the game was starting to get a little chippy. The other team was starting to play more physical and they we're starting to hit like it was a tackle football game.
Callie and the fast girl on the other team had been going back and forth all game, with a few heated shoves being thrown into the mix. Jada couldn't really blame the girl for being frustrated. Callie was just to fast and too physical to be covered alone. And Callie had been torching her all game long.
Watching Callie jog back out to her wide receiver position, Jada lined up to take the snap. She caught the snap as the play began and backed up into the pocket. Jada already knew where the ball was going-to Jackson playing running back. Making sure he was open, Jada threw the ball to her left in the backfield as Jackson caught it and ran behind some blockers.
Jada had finished her throwing motion and was watching the play continue when she was suddenly shoved. It wasn't hard enough to knock her over, but it knocked her off balance.
It was that stupid girl Callie had been bickering with all game that shoved her. "Get your fucking hands off me," Jada snapped as she got up into the girls face so they were face mask to face mask.
The referees blew the whistles and Luke came over to separate the two. "What'd she do?" Callie asked as she caught up to Jada.
"She shoved me for no reason," Jada replied as they walked to the huddle.
"I'm gonna get her," Callie said as they lined up for the next play.
"Callie, let it go," Jada suggested. "I'm okay."
Taking her place behind center again, Jada took the snap and handed the ball off to Jackson again. And that's when she felt herself being shoved again.
This shove was harder and she did lose her balance and hit the ground. It didn't hurt, but she was just pissed that she had gotten shoved again. Looking up, Jada saw one of the big guys on the other team standing over her.
"What the fuck dude? I didn't have the ball!"
As Jada was trying to get to her feet, the figure of her lover and best friend delivered quite the shot to the guy who'd shoved Jada down. She watched as Callie stepped around her and after the guy.
With a smile on her face under her helmet, Jada helped herself up and back onto her feet. By now her wife had tackled the guy to the ground as players on both teams came running over. Her personal bodyguard was letting that dude know that touching Jada like that was not okay.
If Luke, Derek, Jackson, and Kate didn't pull Callie off the guy, she was probably going to have a trauma case going into the OR. It started again when once again, that girl had to get involved.
Jada admired her wife's pure strength. She shrugged off three grown men, one of them a former football player, and went after the girl again.
"You don't fucking touch her like that!" Callie yelled at the girl. "Keep your fucking hands to your fucking self and off my girl! That was a fucking cheap shot and you know it!"
Jada knew she should probably step in when the girl was on the ground cowering under Callie. As much as she didn't want to admit it, watching Callie fight was kinda hot. And know that was Callie defending her so adamantly, was pretty hot itself.
She accelerated her pace upon hearing the yelling start again. Jada was amused when the referees didn't immediately separate them-they knew it was a cheap shot too. The girl must've said something to Callie that Callie didn't like at all, because Callie was yelling at the girl before the guy who shoved Jada tried to get involved again. Callie grabbed him and threw him to the turf as well.
"Tell that bitch of yours to toughen up!" Jada heard as she began pushing through the crowd of players.
Callie threw her shoulders back against the turf. "If you or any of you fuckers lay a finger on her outside of the flags, that'll be the last thing you do!"
"Babe," Jada said as she finally got to Callie and wrapped her arms around her waist. "Come on, you made your point."
Guessing by their reactions to Callie, the point was heard loud and clear. "Come on babe," Jada said again, beginning to pull Callie up onto her feet. "Beat them at the game, not with your fists."
"They're already losing so I think we need a little bit of both," Callie replied. She leaned over one more time. "If any of you take another cheap shot on her, you're not gonna want to know what's next."
Callie finally let Jada help her up. She loved how Callie would soften up for her and not anyone else. Jada was the only one who could get her attention in times like these.
"Thank you baby," Jada said as she walked with Callie out of the group. "Thank you for protecting me."
"I'll always protect you," Callie said softly.

The rest of the game went without incident. They ended up winning the game 42-3 and the two players who took cheap shots on Jada ended up coming over to apologize. As an athlete herself, Jada understood. She wasn't excusing it, but in a moment of pure frustration, it was easy to let the emotions take over for a moment or two.
Callie still looked like she wanted to meet them in the parking lot. The guy had mentioned how Callie was strong for a girl and she ended up showing him up by beating him quickly in an arm wrestling match.
Callie Torres was not one to mess with.
