Jada woke to the sun blazing right into her face. As much as she wanted to roll over, bury her face into the pillow and go back to sleep, she couldn't. Because when Callie left the bedroom early and left the blinds open in a way the sun could get Jada right in the face, she wanted to see her wife.

Sitting up, Jada wondered how in the world Callie got herself downstairs. The bathroom door was open and Callie wasn't in there, and the covers of Callie's side of the bed were made nicely. As much as Callie didn't want to admit it, Jada could tell her wife was in a lot of pain. She confirmed that she did not break her foot, and instead heavily bruised it with the foot of the dresser.

They had a really hard time getting Callie up the stairs last night. When they went to bed it was late and neither of them wanted to wake Michelle who had to get up very early to take Sofia to preschool. They improvised and Jada ended up pretty much pulling Callie up the stairs.

Jada slid out of bed and recovered her favorite crew neck that had been tossed on the floor last night. The crew neck wasn't even hers, it was Callie's, but it was Jada's favorite one to wear. It was meant to fit Callie loosely and barely covered Jada's baby bump fully.

Fully dressing herself, Jada headed downstairs to find the kitchen and living room empty. She racked her brain and tried to figure out what Callie could've been doing before she heard a weight clang into a rack in the basement.

"Calliope," Jada muttered under her breath as she headed to the basement door.

Jada really wanted to kick Callie's ass for taking herself all the way down into the basement, but when she got to the bottom of the steps, she immediately lost her train of thought.

Callie was wearing only a sports bra and tight athletic shorts. And she was on her back, on one of the benches doing chest presses. She had dumbbells in both hands and Jada could see the 100 engraved into each dumbbell. Callie would bring her arms down until the weights were even with her chest before pushing them upward until they were fully extended before doing another rep.

Jada bit her lip as she internally rolled her eyes. This was all a ploy, she knew it. Watching Callie work out was a huge turn on for her and Callie was very aware of the fact. She was always a goner when it came to watching Callie workout.

As much as she wanted to continue watching Callie lift and the curves of her insanely attractive muscles, Jada forced herself to look at Callie's feet. If she were to continue staring, things would not be good. Callie was wearing a boot on her left foot and that told Jada that her foot was still bothering her.

When Callie sat up and set the weights down safely on the floor beside her, Jada made her presence known. "Can you take it easy for one day?"

Callie held her hands up in surrender. "Hey, I was doing upper body only today," she admitted.

Jada raised an eyebrow. "You sure?"

"I'm sure. I can barely walk."

"Calliope, do you think you should go check yourself out?"

"It's not broke," Callie answered immediately. "It's bruised and uncomfortable and it will be for a few days."

"Can you at least take it easy for the rest of the day and let me help you?" Jada pleaded. "Don't give me the pregnant thing either because I'll be okay to take care of you."

"Okay," Callie answered right away. "I'm not going to argue."
