"Hey, baby," Jada started as she walked into the living room and around the couch to join her wife. Plopping down beside Callie, she finished her train of thought. "I heard Christina on the phone earlier. What did she mean when she was talking about later?"

Callie just shrugged. "A group of them are going out to the bar tonight. I already told them I wasn't going."

"Why don't you go, Calliope?"

"I don't want to," Callie said simply. "I intend to stand by my promise of giving up alcohol with you."

"You could still go, baby."

"You seem like you want me to go," Callie said.

"Baby, it's not my place to tell you what to do. I appreciate everything you do for me, but you don't have to stay home tonight and you can drink if you want to."

Callie shook her head. "I had a long day at work, I'm just tired."

"Okay, what do you want to do tonight then?"

Leaning her head back into the couch, Callie groaned. At the same time, both women felt the couch cushion begin to vibrate from Callie's phone that was sitting on it.

Callie looked over at her phone and rolled her eyes. "It's Christina."

Jada rested her head on Callie's shoulder as her wife muted her phone. "I don't want to hold you back from going and having fun with your friends."

"You are my wife, and you are more important to me. You're pregnant and I'm going to be by your side the entire time. I'm not going to eat or drink anything you can't have. Our days of not getting up to check on the baby every night are numbered, so I want to enjoy as much time with you as possible."

"Thank you, Calliope, but it's really okay. I appreciate you and everything you do for me, but if you want to go have fun, then I want you to go have fun." Jada took a deep breath. "I know you want to go. So, go and have some fun. Sofia and I will be here when you get home."

"Are you sure?" Callie asked quietly.

Nodding, Jada replied, "I am."

"But... I told you I would be there for you and that I would-"

"Calliope, I couldn't ask for a more wonderful wife. You have done so much for me and you continue to do so much for me. I'm telling you to go have some fun with your friends."

"Do you want to go?" Callie asked.

Jada shook her head. "I'm tired and will probably just go to bed early. And I don't know where they're going and I don't think being around people smoking would be good for me or the baby." She then asked, "where are you going?"

"They want to go to Partners," Callie answered quietly. "And maybe Joe's afterward."

"That's the strip club, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

Jada sat up straight. "They want to go to a strip club?"

"Yeah, I guess," was Callie's reply. "I think it's just better if I don't go."

"You think?" was Jada's snarky reply. "I don't want some other man or woman running their hands all over you."

Callie sat up and stared at her. Jada immediately bit her lip. She hadn't meant to say that. She really hadn't. It just came out.

"I'm sorry, baby," she tried to apologize. "I didn't mean anything by it and I said it and I don't know why I said it but I didn't mean it," she rambled.

"I really don't appreciate that," Callie said, getting to her feet. "I really didn't want to go, but now I think I'm going to go."

"No, Callie! That's not what I meant!"

"I think you meant what you said," Callie quipped angrily. "You know, letting men touch me and hooking up with random skanks would never cross my mind in a million years. Those days are long over."

"I know, and I'm sorry," Jada pleaded. "Please, I didn't mean that."

"I have been nothing but loyal, loving, and supportive to you," Callie began. "And the moment you brought this up, you immediately accused me of being a cheater. I am not a cheater. I have been cheated on way too much and I would never put someone through that emotional pain."

Callie wasn't done. "I was the one to catch you, cheating on me. And what did I do about that?" she asked. "I let it go," Callie continued. "Because you were drunk."

"I know you would never cheat on me," Jada began. "I'm sorry, I just won't be there to defend my territory and I just don't want anyone touching you or rubbing up on you."

"I think I can take care of myself," Callie snarled back. Walking into the kitchen, she grabbed her keys off the counter and headed for the door. "I'll see you later."
