Her~>
A ringing catches my attention, as I'm trying to recite Surah Ad-Duha.
Neha bought me a Qur'an with English translation, transliteration and Arabic as she knew it was easier for me to memorise the Surahs.
The ringing doesn't stop for another 2 minutes, so I carefully shut the Qur'an with my finger in the middle, I don't wanna forget what page I'm on.
I lean over thinking it was my phone but it was Hala's. I look around to see if they're coming back from the bathroom, but no sign of them.
I take the phone in my hand and turn it around to see the name "khalil⚡️" on it.
Should I just answer? I don't think he would call for this long if it wasn't. I think to myself, before pressing accept.
"Hi?" I ask nervously.
I wait for a few more moments, but no answer.
Why's he not replying?
"Umm Khalil... if you want me to call Hala she's in the bathroom. Do you want me to tell her to call you later?" I question.
"No! No! I- I just, just keep talking to me please" Khalil replies, with a sense of urgency in his voice.
Is he okay? He sounds like he's panting.
"Khalil are you okay? Are you in trouble?" I question, my tone turning serious.
"Yeah I- I- my heart..." He replies quickly.
"Your heart?" I ask.
"I'm...having a panic attack Noor." He murmurs to me.
Yallah
"Uh...Khalil try looking at the the sky." I reply back. I didn't really know how to calm a person down, in a situation like this.
"The sky?" He asks, as I'm able to tell his breathing is becoming increasingly frequent.
"Yes just look at the sky Khalil." I respond.
"Okay... okay Noor" He replies.
I can hear him opening a window slowly as I'm anxiously waiting.
Let's hope I didn't just make things worse, I say to myself in my head.
I wait for a few more moments before I speak again.
"Khalil? You there? Should I call the ambulance?" I question, my tone serious.
"No it's fine...I'm here Noor." He responds, his voice calm.
"How is your heart rate? Put your hand up to your heart." I order, he's not gonna faint on me. There's no way that was happening.
"Noor, you don't need to worry anymore." He reassures me, before letting out a low laugh.
Huh-
Why was he laughing now?
Oh my days, was he going crazy?
"Yallah I'm gonna call an ambulance Khalil, you're gonna hallucinate on me right now." I quickly say, nearly hanging up the phone.
"Wait Noor! Noor don't!" He shouts through the phone, stopping me from ending the call.
"Khalil-" I try replying, but he cuts me off.
"I'm fine now, I promise Noor. You'll see me when I pick you and Hala up anyways remember?" He reminds me.
I forgot about that.
"Oh yeah... I forgot about that." I admit, which only causes him to laugh even more.
