Hers~>
All night I couldn't sleep, thinking about the conversation me and Khalil had in the garden.
But currently I was petting my new kitten, Aslan.
"You are the cutest, Aslan." I said, whilst he buried himself further in my embrace.
Neha had been having nightmares in Amannah's room the past couple of nights, so I asked if she wanted to sleep in my bed tonight and she agreed.
I was worried about her, I can't lie. The way in which she'd been hiding what her marriage had been like. I don't know how she's been handling it inside after all that had happened.
I checked my phone to see if it was Fajr time yet.
I put my phone back and turned to wake up Neha.
"Neha, wake up." I whispered, patting her shoulder.
She slowly rubbed her eyes, "what time is it?"
"Fajr time, girl." I replied, turning the lamp on.
"Alright, let me go make wudhu. Have you?" She asked, getting out of bed.
"Yeah I still have wudhu, I haven't been able to sleep." I said, yawning.
"What? Why?" Neha said, concerned.
"No reason, just this little guy here." I said, smiling to Aslan.
"You really love him already, don't you?" She laughed.
"How could anyone not like him?" I replied, smiling.
Neha shook her head and began making her way to the bathroom.
I sighed and put my prayer abaya and scarf on.
I brought the prayer mat out and laid it carefully on the floor.
"Allahuakbar." I said as I began to pray.
10 minutes later, I went downstairs to grab a glass of water after finishing Salah.
After grabbing my water, I sat in the living room and recited some Qur'an.
As I finished reciting some Surahs, my eye caught something on one of the armchairs across the room.
What was that?
I carefully closed my Qur'an and went to inspect what it was.
Coming closer to the chair I realised it was a wallet.
"Noor? Yallah, you scared me!" Neha called out from the door of the living room.
"Sorry, I just saw this on the chair." I replied, holding the wallet up to her.
Neha nodded and walked closer to me.
"Whose is it?" She asked.
"Dunno, I guess we'll find out." I said.
Opening the black wallet, I saw a few credit cards but nothing that could tell me whose it is.
I removed a credit card from the left side of the wallet and felt a small piece of paper behind it.
Taking the paper out of the wallet I turned it over and it was a picture.
A picture of me and Khalil.
It was of us when we were little, 6 and 8 I would say.
I was wearing sunglasses and he was looking at me whilst holding a bunch of white roses in his hands.
He kept this?
"Is that you and Khalil?" Neha asked behind me.
"Uh- yeah." I replied, hesitantly.
