Noor Ahmad, a girl trying to find her way back to her faith after experiencing a terrible accident.
Khalil Hassan, a guy who moves back home after years, realising that this dunya is all just temporary.
How will these lost souls cope with the chan...
"So did you think that could've gone better?" I ask Elias who's currently eating some gummies meant for the kids at the mosque.
"What's that man?" He asks back, still eating.
Ya Rabb.
"Elias!" I say before smacking his head.
"Yallah, what is it?" He asks, rolling his eyes.
"Before? Do you think it could've been better?" I repeat once again.
"Honestly no. I would've been more pissed than you but you handled it well." He replies, handing a strawberry gummy to me.
"What was it again? The thing you gave to her?" Elias asks, leaning against the table.
After finding those letters that I'd written years back, I wanted to give them back to the one who it was for.
"You know those letters... I wrote when I left?" I say, reluctantly.
"It was them?" He asks, grinning.
"Yeah, I dunno I guess I just wanted to make sure that this choice, us, wasn't a mistake." I reply, sighing.
"I doubt she'd even consider you guys as a mistake." He responds, shaking his head.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Well its obvious you guys only see each other. You've never talked or even looked at another girl the way you would at her and I'm pretty sure she's the same." Elias says with a smile.
I slowly smile to myself as I don't even need to think about it. Of course he was right. Noor and me wasn't a choice but it was planned.
A few moments later Noor walks back in the kitchen, alone.
"You okay?" I ask her as she just nods and forces a smile.
"Found it!" Hala calls out, walking to the kitchen.
"You found it?" Samir laughs.
"Found what?" Me and Noor both ask, confused.
"The letters." Hala whispers to me, making that evil grin.
Holding a medium sized box, my sister passes it to my fiancé while she pulls me out of the room.
"Come on now, It's time you guys left! We have work to do!" She says looking to me and Elias who grabs a bag of gummies.
"But-" I reply, looking back to Noor but once again she interrupts.
"That's enough! You guys are gonna be married to each other tomorrow anyways, one more night is fine!" She scolds as she shoves us out the front door with our shoes.
"Damn your sister isn't playing." Elias whispers, putting his shoes on.
"What was that?" Hala asks, whipping her head around.
"Yallah, I didn't say you were wrong though Hala!" He says, sheepishly.
"We all know I'm not, now go! Take your gummies with you!" She laughs before throwing the sweets at me and slamming the door.
"Well. That went well." I sigh.
"Very." Elias replies, sarcastically.
