I was driving back to Elias's, trying to process that this was actually happening.
Noor forgave me and still wanted to marry me.
She did still feel the same for me as she did all those years ago.
I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as I came face to face with my best friend.
"So? What's the verdict?" Elias asked, curiously.
"She said yes." I replied, a massive smile forming on my face.
"I knew it!" He said as we both hugged each other.
"Yallah, tell me what happened?" Haadi says whilst walking into the kitchen with the kitten.
"I asked for Noor's hand." I said, trying not to let the smile engulf my face.
"And? What did she say?" He asks, his hand scratching his beard.
"Well I guess I'm going to her Baba's tomorrow." I replied, instantly being embraced by my brother.
"My little brother's getting married!" Haadi said, laughing against my shoulder.
As we were hugging Haadi forgot that he was holding the kitten in his arm. The poor little guy was trying to escape out of there.
"Haadi, the kitten!" Elias called out, whilst I immediately made space in between me and my brother for the kitten to jump into my hands.
"Shh, it's okay my little lion." I whispered, stroking the kitten on my chest.
"Little lion?" Haadi asked, grinning.
"Well Noor's little lion I guess." I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Isn't he the both of yours then, you guys are getting married after all." Elias said, smiling.
"Yeah, I guess he is now." I said, looking to my kitten.
"Aww, Ma'Sha'Allah. They've already got something connecting the both of them." Elias said, stroking my kitten.
"Elias, I still haven't asked her dad yet." I responded whilst grabbing my phone from my pocket.
"Wait, have you told Baba yet?" Haadi asked.
"That's what I'm going to do now." I replied, holding my phone up to him.
Elias gave me a thumbs up while I passed my kitten to Haadi.
"I don't think he's going to answer." I said, as the phone was ringing.
"In'Sha'Allah he does. This grudge between you two has been going on for far too long. It isn't helping any of us." Haadi replied, looking to me with sunken eyes.
I nodded slowly, praying that me and Baba can have reconnect.
"Asalamualaikum, Baba." I said as my dad accepted the call.
Baba didn't answer but waited for me to say what I called for.
"I was calling to say if I could come over today?" I asked, walking to my room.
"Why? Do you want to pick up the rest of your stuff?" He said, making me sigh.
"No, I wanted to talk to you about something but I'd rather do it in person." I replied, looking at the packed suitcases lined up.
"Fine, Khalil." Baba said, before hanging the phone.
I dropped my phone on the bed and began folding some of my clothes from the wardrobe and inside the suitcases.
