Hers~> 4 days married

The night of Eid was quite literally a scramble.

Both Hala and Baba had stayed at ours since we were going to meet them the next morning anyways and it would be the only logical option.

To our surprise Haadi had also surprised everyone with his surprise earlier when he arrived for the Eid party.

"Asalamulaikum, guys." Haadi says with a wide smile.

Normally he wouldn't really be having a smile on his face but today was different. Today something else had put my brother in law in a good mood and I wasn't complaining.

"Salam!" Another man with glasses said while waving.

Huh-

Who was he?

Looking to Haadi with wide eyes he immediately says, "Sorry I forgot to say, Noori. This is Jay my friend he's currently looking into Islam."

Oh.

Well that was a surprise but a good one.

"Walaikumsalam, Jay." I reply, with a small smile before shutting the door as they both pass through to the garden.

Our families were already there with Hamza and Ibrahim.

"Who is he?" Hamza asks when I sit with Khalil in the garden.

"That's Haadi uncles friend, Jay." I reply to him, squeezing his cheeks.

"Oh, should I go give my Salam?" He asks me, curiously.

Hamza was such a cutie.

"If you feel comfortable, Hamza." I say, adjusting his thobe.

I didn't want to force Hamza with introducing himself with new people if he didn't want to. Both him and his brother had a lot on their plate and there was no reason with doing this as well.

"Umm, I feel okay aunty! I'll go!" He cheers with a laugh.

I nod with a smile and he then goes to greet Jay and Haadi.

"You excited for tomorrow?" Khalil asks me and I turn to him.

"For the plane ride? Of course." I reply, smiling.

He lowers his gaze to his hands warily and interlaces them with an uncomfortable smile.

Hmm, what was wrong with him?

"What's up?" I ask.

"What's up?" He repeats, shrugging.

"Khalil. I know you more than you know yourself, now tell me what's wrong?" I say, gently.

Khalil locks eyes with me before speaking, "Its embarrassing, Noor."

"Well I signed up to be your partner in this life and the next, whatever it is I'm not going anywhere." I reply, putting a hand on his.

"Im scared of planes." He sighs, running a hand on his face.

He was scared of planes?

"Why? Are you scared of heights or something?" I ask, tightening my grip on his hand.

"No it's not that it's the fact that I'm putting my life- our lives in someone else's hands. I mean what if something happens and the plans crashes?" He says, looking to me with wide eyes.

I noticed Ibrahim had heard him and nodded to me with a scared look.

I immediately offer him a thumbs up and  mouth, "He's fine."
