I never knew my ringtone could be so jarringly loud until that moment. Groggily, I picked up my scroll and answered Ruby, my voice heavy with fatigue.
Jaune: "Hello..."
For some reason, the noise coming through her scroll was unbearable. The combination of static and a loud background noise severely disrupted the signal, leading to our call being abruptly cut off.
