Father Andrealphus Part 1

It was another beautiful winter. Hell didn't always freeze over. But some regions were colder than others. And even fewer were frozen wonderlands. Andrealphus had made his home in one such frigid province. He loved the cool, crisp air. The stinging cold felt so good. Today he was walking through the snowy forest and reading the paper. He didn't care much for news. But recent family developments had sparked some interest to keep in the loop. He laughed as he strode along the frozen dirt paths. Andrealphus helped himself to the rest of the paper. As he strolled along, something in the snow caught his attention. He drew closer and picked it up. It was an egg. Being an avian demon species, it was one of his kind, not some reptile. Andrealphus pondered for some time. It was pretty strange. Not that he cared. In this environment, the chick would've been dead inside hours ago. Then the egg started shaking. He saw tiny cracks forming. A moment later, Andrealphus was met with a chick. He stared at the small creature. It was pure white with light blue eyes. The staring contest lasted until the small ball of feathers shook and chirped loudly.

Now, Andrealphus never cared about having a family. His extended one was enough. However, something about this little one hit him. At that moment, he decided to adopt the chick and carried her home. Thankfully, she was an ice elemental like himself. It was what had saved her from freezing to death. Andrealphus reasoned that her birth parents must be of the same breed. But he was her parent now. The first thing he did was feed her. Living alone, he had never bothered to stock up. But he could manage an extra beak for a few days. Next, he informed the Goetia elites about the situation. They agreed to let him adopt the young one and raise her as he saw fit (long as it also aligned with their greater end goals). Thus, Andrealphus was now a father. It was funny. But in a good way. He had never seen himself as a father. Yet, here he was.
