Alastor stood by the front doors of the hotel. He was waiting for his girlfriend and business partner Charlie. Oh, and she was the princess. Nothing big. He sipped a fresh cup of coffee as he waited with a magazine. His gaze turned toward the stairs upon hearing footsteps. Charlie came down the stairs. Her bright smile lit up the foyer. The chandelier reflected her radiance. Alastor raised an eyebrow. She was stunning. It was a striking contrast to her more traditional suit and tie look. Charlie blushed nervously. Alastor chuckled and held his hand out. She was adorable. With her in hand, he opened the door and followed her out.
At the restaurant, Alastor helped himself to the blackest coffee possible. Nothing new there. Charlie ordered a bottle of red wine while they decided on food. Alastor's eyes wandered toward the meatier dishes. His eyes glowed with excitement when he saw an interesting venison pasta with a bloody sauce. It was perfect. Charlie giggled, seeing the light in his eyes. She settled on a light yet satisfying option. While eating, they talked about the hotel. She had a lot of ideas. Alastor smiled while listening. While her overly positive attitude could be tiring, it also made him see things differently. His sarcastic demeanor had been humbled by her cheery outlook many times. Charlie finally asked for his input. Alastor didn't go into detail. A restaurant wasn't the place to go over such matters.
After dinner and dessert, Alastor drove back to the hotel. He let Charlie to her room and headed to his down the hall. However, he found himself being pulled back a moment later. Perhaps it was the wine, but he was holding her a minute later. She was giggling. And he had a wider grin on his face. It was true that they had been dating for months. It was also true that he wasn't above taking advantage of others. But this was his girlfriend. Alastor carried her to bed, dressed her in her favorite nightgown, and tucked her in. He seriously contemplated joining her. He knew she wouldn't mind. However, he didn't want Charlie to have the wrong idea upon waking up. On the other hand, waking up alone after getting drunk sucked. Alastor chuckled to himself and hung his coat on her coat rack. After locking the window and door, he silently slid under the covers. It was very soft and comfortable. Alastor stared at the ceiling. Maybe, just maybe, he could convince her into a special little something.
