You're In My Way, Insect

Alastor had been observing his lovely business partner and her...associate, as he called her. He had a thing for Charlie, and it was no secret. She ran the hotel well and was quite the businesswoman. Her manager Vaggie, however, raised some concerns in him. Alastor had been silently watching them since the hotel opened months ago. And something about this damn moth demon made him downright uncomfortable. He didn't know what it was. But the hunch was strong enough to warrant a little snooping around. She was just too suspicious. And he didn't want any liabilities around Charlie.

One night after hours, Alastor helped himself to Vaggie's work laptop. She usually left it in the manager's office. However, there was some personal data on it. He cringed and gagged at what he saw. It made him sick. But it was a good start to build a case against her. The next day, he informed Charlie about his findings. While she didn't like that he had gone prying into her manager's private affairs, that changed when he told her she was possibly a threat to the hotel. The secrets and evidence made it clear that she didn't honestly believe in the morals and vision of the hotel. While Vaggie was out to lunch, Charlie took a look for herself. Everything was there. It infuriated her. She wouldn't stand for someone like this to work in her hotel.

The two waited until after closing. As Vaggie was packing her things, they were in the lobby pretending to make small talk while closing the curtains and cleaning the tables. She walked out of her office and bid them good night. But before she stepped outside, Charlie called her back with a beautiful fake smile. Of course, Vaggie listened to her boss. A moment later, she was struck down and lying on her face. A large kitchen knife was in her back. Another wave of seething came as a cleaver came down on her a moment later. Of course, Charlie and Alastor didn't kill her right away. They kept her alive just long enough to tell her that they knew.
