Being popular was great. Everyone knew your name, and it was useful leverage for getting what you wanted. But it also sucked. There wasn't a day of peace. There was always some kinda drama going on. Verosika knew all this better than anyone. And she knew how to play both sides of her life perfectly. She strictly kept her life on stage and life behind closed doors separate. She didn't like mixing her two halves. But there were times when it was necessary. The old tattoo on her arm was a reminder of a time when she had put more into her personal life. It hadn't gone so well. Now as Hell's number one pop star and idol, all that was behind her. Expect it wasn't. Verosika was a succubus. Fliting around and making men fall at her heels was part of her life. She never stuck to one man for long. The list of men was as long as her career. Maybe even longer, given her early sexual maturity as a sex demon. Nobody knew. But there had been one man who had made Verosika look twice for the first time. It was funny. He had happened to come to one of her shows for a break from work. And they just clicked.

Verosika still wondered if breaking up had been wise. It hadn't been a smooth relationship. Both were dedicated to their job, and free time was a rare luxury. One neither of them had. Their only thing in common was their ranking in Hell's class system. For her, becoming famous was a way out of poverty. He had chosen business in hopes of becoming wealthy to provide for his daughter and two close friends. But Hell was cruel. And fate was a cold mistress. The caste system dictated everything. No matter how successful one was, what you were born or remade as overruled all. Yet, Verosika had made it on her own. She was one of the biggest stars in Hell. She had clawed (and occasionally slept and killed) her way out of her hometown. Looking back made her laugh. A part of her still missed the simpler days. But this was better.
