He Belongs With Me

Stolas was busy practicing a new spell. It required delicate precision and careful concentration. He had been working on this spell for months. And he was so close. As Stolas examined his notes for the fiftieth time today, shouting roared throughout the mansion. Stolas sighed. He knew what this was about. His lovely little affair partner had come for another round with his wife. It had started the moment Stella had found out about him and Blair. Stolas grumbled and cursed under his breath as the doors to his large magical laboratory slammed shut. This shit ended today. As expected, he found the two women arguing in the foyer.

Stolas groaned. This was getting really old, really fast. Without hesitation, he yelled. And they finally shut up, mostly Stella. His next move was to sit them down in the living room. Now, Stolas had been quite the bachelor in his teens and young adult life. And it wasn't hard to see why. He was used to women clamoring all over him. But this? No. This was just an annoyance. Stolas admitted to himself that it was partially his fault. He should've made things clear in the beginning. But hindsight was 20/20.

Stolas waited until the two were quiet. Then he laid it out. Stolas understood why his wife was so angry. Anyone would be furious after finding out about their significant other having an affair. If only it were so black and white. It was no secret that Stella was a handful. She was aggressive, classist, and beyond arrogant. Stolas had overlooked all this for a while. But when it had become too much, he started seeing his friend Blair. And as for Blair, she was savvy, quick-witted, and so much more. Stolas made a final decree. He had had enough. It was time he and Stella got a divorce. Her attitude was all over the place. There was no question about it. Blair was a far better woman. Stolas didn't care if she was an Imp. That didn't matter to him. With his piece said, he left them stunned in silence. It was about time he deserved better.
