Three weeks had passed since Blitzo had adopted his hellhound daughter Loona. He had done a lot of work to fix the place to make it more suitable and family-friendly. He had done some parenting research, looked through her file very thoroughly, and even redone the room he thought she'd like best. The closet was full of new dark and edgy outfits. Some had a cute side, while others were pure anarchy. The bathroom had towels and other essentials (with the tags still on, so she didn't think they were used). There were a few decorations in boxes for her to choose from. The desk was stocked with stationery supplies. Blitzo had done well for himself.

Today, Blitzo was up early and making pancakes while following a simple recipe. It was his first time cooking for someone else. And he liked it. To his pleasant surprise, he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. The table was set with syrup, juice, and fruit. Blitzo happily welcomed her and put pancakes on the table as she sat silently. He congratulated her for leaving her room to eat after these three weeks. But he didn't push it and just asked for her opinion on his pancakes. He knew trying to make her talk would only backfire. She would talk when she felt more comfortable. For now, sitting in the same room was enough. Loona quietly ate. And she had to admit. It was better than eating alone and locked up in her room. After some hesitation, she muttered a compliment about her dad's cooking. It wasn't great. But she could tell that he had put in the effort for her. That and there was a breakfast cookbook by the stove.

After a few more days, Loona finally approached her dad on her own. And he was thrilled. She asked for some shopping money for a lava lamp and a few posters. Blitzo handed her a few $50s and offered to drive her to the mall and even get lunch. Though she wasn't fond of being seen with him, she could tell he meant well. So, their first outing as father and daughter was set. And it was definitely a success.

And it was definitely a success
