This was a bad idea, this was such a bad idea, and if Aiden survived, he'd never pull this again. Or rather, he'd have a better escape plan. He couldn't get out. The vampires were circling, lost in the music and the dance. Aiden shivered, diving further into the warm bodies of people in the centre of the dance floor. He didn't have the guts to find the information he needed.
This was worse than a bad idea. It was a waste of time and had the potential to get him killed. The strobe lights flashed around him, and the music bounced off his skin with how loud the club pumped it out. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself and try to focus.
He needed to get out. He moved towards the door. The vampires didn't force people to come to the suck house. They wouldn't trap him, would they? They'd hear his heart fluttering like a scared mouse and let him loose. Scared people did stupid things, and the Suckhouses worked because hunters didn't target them. People didn't go missing from suckhouses. Vampires had to sign waivers that they would stalk people from them. Humans needed to sign waivers about the inherited risk of letting a predator feed from them.
Cold hands caught him and pulled him close. "Leaving so soon?"
"Needed some air," Aiden breathed as fingers drifted across his neckline and tickled his rips.
"I don't think you need air," chuckled someone as teeth dragged over his skin and a tongue flicked against his ear. A hand pressed above his heart and danced him closer to the bar. "I think you need something to calm that precious heart. Water would be a good place to start. Maybe a cigarette?"
"Sounds like a plan," Aiden tried not to squeak as he got lifted and placed on a barstool. The vampire beamed at him, eyes hungry, but a glass of water dutifully got pressed to his lips. Aiden drank. It was possibly drugged. Aiden needed something to calm him down more than he cared.
"You are a pretty thing," The vampire leaned down and kissed Aiden's forehead. "Here," a roll-up was in his hand.
That was drugged. Aiden let him put it on his lip, and the vampire went to light it. Another knocked it out of his lips. He blinked, and another vampire was in front of him. Equally as handsome as the first but shining with more power, his eyes glowing.
"Thorneblood," the first vampire said, annoyance ringing but no less polite. "Is there a problem?"
"You're poaching," Thorneblood said, a hand resting on Aiden's knee possessively.
"He's not claimed."
"Would you like to fight me on this?" Thorneblood grinned. The first vampire scowled but softened as he met Aiden's panicked eyes.
"I was looking after him. If you claim him, you should take better care of your kids," the vampire pressed another kiss to Aiden. This time to the corner of his mouth. A daring move as Thorneblood snarled angrily. "Until the next we meet, pretty one," he purred but vanished back into the dim of moving bodies.
Iron arms didn't take too long to encase him and towed him a way out of the club. Soft murmuring followed him; another body pressed close as they escaped out into the street. The streetlights flicked above them as the cool air surrounded them, and Aiden started to tremble. The light blinked off, plunging them into darkness. Heads pressed to his shoulders, but no teeth pierced his skin. The grip on him turned from trapping to searching, wandering hands checking over him with annoyed muttering.
"Shaun will be pissed," the second body said as he broke the collar around Aiden's neck and dumped it out on the floor. Another wave of cold circled around him. "You should know better than to do undercover work without backup."
The man stomped on the iron and crushed it beneath his feet. Aiden turned, the light flickering back on to reveal a brute of a vampire. Thorneblood had the look of a typical leech, but this one looked more like a wolf. Broad shoulders set powerful and ready to brawl followed by tattoos covered arms, and a metal piercing is stuck on his lip. Enough rings decorated his fingers to be makeshift knuckledusters. Some of the rings looked silver.

General FictionA collection of one-shots/drabbles that I have written over the years. Hopefully some will get to be turned into full stories one day but for now, this is somewhere safe for them to sit.
