Chapter 7: Dear Mikha

Mikha's POV

I woke up when I felt the sun hitting my face. Sinubukan kong tumayo pero nahihilo pa rin ako. I was so drunk last night and I can't remember some of the things that happened. All I know is that, safe ako sa bar na pinuntahan ko at pinuntahan ako ni Aiah para sunduin. After that, wala na akong maalala.

I stayed in bed for about 30 minutes more until I decided to take a quick shower. After I fix myself, I decided to go to Aiah's room to invite her over breakfast. She must be tired and sleepless because she took care of me.

I tried knocking on her door and calling out her name a few times pero walang sumasagot. Aalis na sana ako when the staff in this hotel called me.

 
"Ma'am, nagcheck out na po 'yong kasama niyo ng madaling araw." he informed me.

"Huh? Eh kuya sinong naghatid sa akin?" I asked him, naguguluhan pa rin ako sa mga nangyayari.

 
"Pinaki-usapan niya po akong dalhin kayo hanggang sa kwarto niyo. Ma'am, sana maayos niyo na po problema niyo ng girlfriend mo. Mukhang mahal na mahal ka kasi niya." he told me and leave me hanging.

And just like that, I suddenly realized everything that happened last night. I was pushing her away when she was just trying to help me. I was too focused on the pain Jhoanna inflicted on my heart and I disregarded Aiah who was there all along.

"She's in love with me..." I whispered to myself. Para akong nanghina na hindi alam ang gagawin. Dinala nalang ako ng mga paa ko sa dagat.

If only I can chose who am I going to love, hindi ko naman pipiliing mahulog kay Jhoanna. Kung siguro ay hindi ako lasing, nakapag-usap kami ng maayos ni Aiah. If I can't love her back, maybe I can at least offer her a friendship. After all, hindi naman na ako galit sa kaniya. I feel comfortable around her, she's like a fresh breath of air in a hot summer.

I opened my phone and immediately booked a flight back to Manila. I should make this right.

"I am aware that my cousin is in love with you. Hindi ko lang matanggap 'yong way mo on pushing her away." Colet told me habang tinitingnan ako ng masama.

After I went home from my Davao trip, I told Colet, Sheena, and Maloi to meet me as aoon as possible. And yes, we're here at our house. I told them everything that happened with me and Aiah, except for the 'Jhoanna' thing. I'm not yet ready to open it up with my friends.
