In the end, Cas found a way to get me to stay.
I arrived at the motel after driving for forty minutes only to find at least fifteen cruisers parked in front of it. Two enormous DEA trucks were idle in the parking lot, their lights bouncing off the building. Bright yellow 'DO NOT CROSS' police tape already blocked the entryway, and one by one the DEA was kicking the doors to the rooms down, attacking the people inside.
A faint whoosh sounded beside me and before I could wonder what the hell that sound could have even come from, he was already beside me.
"H-Holy!" I jumped, my heart practically leaping into my mouth. "God damnit!" But Cas was wearing a smug smile.
"This was you, wasn't it." I gave him a dry look.
He shrugged. "I guess now you have no place to go."
I squinted my eyes at him. "You're an abominable, horrible angel."
Yet with a smile so charming it could only be from up above, he told me, "Be careful not to make a U-turn. Those are illegal here."
"Murder is also illegal but that won't stop me," I muttered back, angrily shifting the gear to reverse and pivoting my body to watch the road behind me as I wheeled out of view before making the illegal U-turn.
I was pretty tired either way—52 hours of no sleep really took a toll on the stubborn image I was trying to maintain.
It was seven in the AM by the time I reached the bunker. This time Cas let me park inside the garage. My eyes widened when I saw how huge it was; it could comfortably safe keep at least thirty cars. The bunker was getting sweeter and sweeter and it was difficult to remember why I was fighting Cas from staying.
Sam was reading in a corner and Dean was nowhere to be found—I secretly hoped there'd be a movie theater or a bowling alley that Dean was busying himself with somewhere in the building. Cas was the one to show me to the room I was going to spend the night in.
It was okay. A drastic upgrade from your usual grimy motel room obviously, but I wasn't going to admit that anytime soon.
"You don't like it?"
"It's plain," I muttered with a yawn.
"Well," Cas said, stepping out of the room. "Maybe you could find a way to brighten it up on your own time."
"Um, that won't be necessary since I'm leaving soon!" I had to call the last part after him because he was walking away.
"Bathroom is last door on the left," his voice echoed throughout the hallway without him turning around. I sighed and shrugged off my duffle bag before closing the door and putting the chair against it just in case.
I decided against changing. I didn't want Cas to get any ideas. I wanted him to see that I was just a temporary guest. T-e-m-p-o-r-a-r-y.
My muscles 'oooh'd' and 'ahhhh'd' as I fell on the bed. The stone-like mattress felt like a blessing from the very sweetest angel in fairyland.
Not Cas though, was the last thought I had before I drifted off, Cas was a butthead.

I woke up to the sound of laughter coming from the library.
My mind was a bit fuzzy on how I got here—and it was a moment of complete confusion before I remembered last night's events.
Motel? Cops? Squirrel? Angels? Casablanca? Bunker?
Bunker.
When I checked the time I knew why I felt like I was waking up from the dead. It was eight PM. Eight PM.
