BFORE (2) King of the Damned
c.1993
Crowley pressed the needle even deeper into the side of her head.
"Stop!" she gasped, chest heaving and face coated with a thin sheet of sweat. "I'll tell you, I'll tell you everything you need to know!" The pain was only a part of why she had no choice but to surrender.
Destiny was well aware of Crowley's skill to dig into an angel's brain. And Destiny would rather Fall at the hands of her own brother over and over again before giving Crowley the information he must never ever know.
"How can crossroads demon become a King," he spat through his teeth. He had her blood splattered on his face. It must've been the thousandth time he'd asked her that question in the last two days.
She swallowed loudly, breaths coming in gasps. She almost choked on the words as they left her raw throat. "You must...become a Father."
"Pardon?" he tilted his head closer politely.
Destiny felt like she was chewing on bile when she instructed him, "Chose a human infant, Mark them as Hell's Child and grant them powers. Then you will be eligible for kingship."
"Hell's Child as in the Hell's Child, number one out of two Children?"
She would say that Heaven's Child came first, but, "Yes."
"Has anyone Marked Heaven's Child yet?" he asked curiously.
Destiny looked away. "I believe you've taken the information you were looking for, you can kill me now."
A sinister grin flashed on his face. "Oh Des, not nearly."
Her screams echoed throughout the old chambers, loud, desperate and unheard.

Some animals are born with claws and a loud roar, others have venom and can see in the dark. A shapeshifter can entirely strip its skin and take on another form, a wraith can drive its prey insane.
An angel cries.
When Destiny cried it sounded like a song, beautiful, foreign and enchanting. Her voice was a low whisper but only because she didn't have the strength. Crowley left her to rot with several needles in her head and chains on her wrist, but she fought, nonetheless, to rip a page out of one of the old books kept in the unknown chambers she was in.
She reached for her head and pulled a needle out, but with that came a pain so piercing she almost pushed it forward and ended her life instead. Silent sobs rolled out of her as she pecked the tip of the needle in one of her many wounds to use her blood as ink.
Now all she needed was a messenger.
She cried for hours, almost dead and half asleep when a crow heard her. The curious bird slid through the metal bars and flew down to the fallen angel, waiting for instruction.

Gabriel was the one she chose to seek.
She needed someone who was stupid enough, rebel enough, powerful enough to defy all orders and instinct—even those that came from her brother.
When he received the note, Gabriel had already Marked the newborn baby. He was prepared to make her his and steal her away from her father, but he changed course when the crow pecked on the window of the hospital and dropped the note that was stained with an old lover's blood in his hands:
Hell knows.

And his world came to a screeching halt, and finally, a violent reverse. He gave the girl back to her grieving father and vanished, his work set out for him.
When news of Lilith and the breaking of the seals, he resurfaced just for a moment. To nudge and hint and push the Winchesters in the right direction as unbiasedly as he could.
But much like Destiny, his unexpected end came at the hands of the person he loved the most.
And so his Child was left to fend for herself, unaware of the responsibility she owed to heaven, unknowing of the scheming brewing in Hell, unknowing of the war that was going to tear her world apart.
