We went inside soon after but before Kevin could shut himself in his room, I stopped him.
"Uh—hey, can I borrow your phone? Dean kind of took mine."
"What? Why?"
I let out a nervous breath. "Well—d—uh—he thinks I'm going to call Crowley with it." I put my hands in my back pockets and shrugged uncomfortably.
"Unbelievable," Kevin shook his head and started to untie a sack of black powder. "Dean could be so annoying sometimes. How could he think that? Why the hell would you call Crowley?"
I let out a shuddered breath. "I don't know!"
"Really? Crowley?"
"It's just Dean, I guess! Dean's paranoid," I nodded sympathetically.
"Yeah," Kevin agreed. "He can be a bit paranoid. I think he's getting old. Kind of feel bad for him. He grew up rough, raised into this life. But don't worry, I'll talk to him about it. Maybe ease his paranoia a little," he said, as he sealed himself in his room with goofer dust to ward off the imaginary hell hounds. "Who do you want to call anyway?"
"Oh, just checking my voicemail. Just in case any one left me a message or something."
"Okay," he nodded happily and handed me his phone. "Just be careful with it."
"Sure," I gave him a tight smile before I hurried to my room.
Crowley || Somewhere Shady
She was late.
Probably wasn't going to show up, but who knew?
Of course if she didn't then that put him in a sticky situation. Especially now that Alec was making friendship bracelets with Knight Mussolini and Heckle and Jeckle had every opportunity to slam the gates on his ass now that they had the full tablet...things weren't looking so well for Crowley. And the absolutely unfaithful scum of the earth demon were seeing it too. Fifty more left just a few days ago to join Abaddon's regime.
They were dead the next morning. Because Crowley was King. And he will always be King.
"Boss, what are we doing here again?"
His eyes flicked to the double agent demon with sheer annoyance. "Obeying, you sub neanderthal leech." He spat the words through his teeth before fixing his collar again. Really, him and the other four were here so that the pretty precious princess could practice on them. That's in the case where she showed up, of course.
He clenched his teeth, waiting for the rage to pass. It took everything in his power not to hunt her down and lock her up himself. But spite-driven villains never got anywhere. He was going to be patient.
"But we've been waiting her for—" He was cut off with a snap of the finger, and caput—the demon, flesh and smoke, combusted into small bloody pieces that flew everywhere. Crowley was a few hundred feet away before a speck could reach his bloody expensive coat.
The other demons were clearly nervous, and the thought brought the tiniest smile to Crowley's face.
"I punish those who deserve it," Crowley spoke eloquently. "Rascal told Queen Hitler where we would be tonight. She might pop in at any moment, thanks to him."
The thought sent shivers down each of their backs. They were done for. The four were all playing both teams, that's why Crowley chose them to train the especially moody Heaven's Child with.
If Abaddon did make an appearance, she would kill them. But if they tried to run now, Crowley would kill them. He watched with bitter amusement as they were stewing in their own panic.
"I'm a boss ass b!tch, b!tch, b!tch—" He answered the phone, already guessing what she was going to say.
"Princess. You're late."
"Yeah, listen. Deal's off."
"Really," in the most controlled voice he can manage, "Is there a reason?"
"You cut my friend's pinky off. You're a complete douche, you were probably on Columbus's ship when he first landed in the Americas, you call Sam and Dean Moose and Squirrel for whatever reason, you're Scottish—"
"Oi. What do you have against the Scottish?"
"That's not the point. Deal's off."
"But it's not."
"Hokay," she laughed, but it was an octave higher than normal. She was anxious.
"Why don't you come over today? We'll start on the training quicker. Because I know for a fact that you're going to come to me sooner or later. Just trying to save the time."
"And what makes you so sure?" she scoffed.
"Because there's no one else to train you, is there?" Silence. "Princess...Is the angel not satisfying you?"
"Have a good one, douche bag." The line fell dead.
"You too love," he muttered. It was suddenly too quiet. When Crowley looked around him, the four men he brought with him were on the floor, still as statues.
"And here I thought dramatic entrances were past you." He turned to greet his Son with a proud smile.
"I learned from the most overly theatrical man in the universe, didn't I?"
Crowley's grin only grew wider. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this romantic face-to-face?"
But things turned south very quickly. Fifteen of Abaddon's gorilla trainees were suddenly there, weapons ready. Alec's small curve of the lips turned sour as he signaled to the demon soldiers to attack the King of Hell.
