The schedule said I was supposed to be at my nurse consultation but I couldn't find the nurse's office. I walked outside of the small cabin, realizing I might be in the wrong one. That's when I spotted the cafeteria and the rest of the kids.

It was like I was watching a bad zombie movie in real time.

Everyone was...off. They all had stupid expressions on their faces like there was absolutely nothing going on upstairs. They all looked like they were moving extra slowly, too. Way too slowly.

A girl was unzipping her lunch bag at zero point one miles a decade. The boy across from her had his spoon frozen in mid air, his mouth wide open. Almost all of the kids had droopy eyes and drool falling out of the corner of their mouths. It was a bit chilling.

"Hi, are you Sally?" I jumped, only to realize it was just a young boy who interrupted me.

I took a step back eyeing him from head to toe. "Depends on who's asking."

"I'm just here to take you to the nurse," he gave me a polite smile.

"I was just on my way."

"The nurse is on the other side of camp."

"I knew that."

"I could show you the way if..." he raised his arm to gesture behind him and I noticed his bicep. It had a big, bright blue bruise just like the psychologist did on his neck.

"Uh, sure. You could show me the way."

"Awesome."

We started walking the way I came and I waited for a few seconds before asking so I won't seem too curious.

"So what happened to your arm?"

"Oh this? It's a side affect from the vaccine. Everyone gets it."

"Vaccine?"

"Yeah, didn't you hear? There's this virus going around in the forest. All the animals are getting sick from it, so they just injected us with this vaccine to be safe." I must've looked horrified because then he added, "It's fine, really. We all took it."

Except it wasn't fine because the psychologist had the bruise on his neck and there wasn't a vaccine in the world that could be injected there.

I didn't say anything else and I let him lead me to the very last cabin on the camp. When we stepped in, there was a group of kids hanging some flyers. Except they were working at an unnaturally slow pace, like the kids in the cafeteria.

"Doesn't this seem kinda weird to you?" I asked him, trying to play it off cool.

"You mean how slow everyone is?"

"So you see it too?"

He shrugged. "Just another side affect. Should disappear in a few weeks."

I gave him a quick smile. "Of course. When did you take your shot?"

"Right before I was told to come look for you. So we're here."

"Right. Thanks."

"'S no...problem." The zombie-ness must've caught up to him.

I did my best not to touch him and nodded, "Okay, thanks!" I quickly ducked into the room, trying not to look horrified.

The nurse's office was small and quiet, with only a receptionist at the desk and a kid in the waiting area. I rushed to the receptionist.

"Hey, hi. So, um..there's this shot everyone's taking and I was wondering—"

"Oh hi, you must be Sally."
