My hands and feet were tied. Sweat was dripping off my nose and I only saw tunnel vision. I tried to move, but there was a heavy, intangible force holding me down. I realized with a wave of panic that I was completely paralyzed.
A voice echoed all around me and it was unnaturally familiar. Too much like mine.
It was laughing, giggling with glee. "Oh Alec is going to make me his queen after this. The Winchesters heads on a plate, the prophet and the tablet, and now Heaven's Child too."
My glare turned deadly when I turned to Sam. I held my palm up and shoved him towards the wall, making sure he hit his head extra hard. He let out an agonized groan when his head made a loud sound and blood began trickling down his neck.
"Sam!" Dean shouted, desperate to rush to him and nurse his concussion but I forced Dean to his knees when I turned to him and clenched his insides in a vice grip. A few seconds later, blood began leaking down his nose too.
I screamed at the top of my lungs, fighting hard against the rope around my hands and feet. Fighting hard to save my friends.
But I might as well have been screaming into a black hole.
"You can try all you want but the truth is you're a piss poor excuse for a savior." She told me with my voice.
I'm not a savior. I spat back, not pausing my kicking for a second.
"Oh sweetie I don't need convincing. It's them that need convincing. Look at how they're looking at you like they believe you're going to somehow snap out of it." She looked at Kevin who was slowly losing consciousness and told him as a matter of factly, "You're pathetic."
No, Kevin you're not.
"She thinks so too. She thinks you're weak and whiny and pitiful."
Anger was rolling off of me in heat waves, but I couldn't do much else. I kicked and punched even harder, but it was useless.
"No she doesn't." He spat back, but it was tepid. "You're lying."
"You know I'm not." I could see the heart break on his face even though he was trying to hide it. The falter in his anger glare, the twitch in his lips. He was so quick to believe it and it made me boil.
She's lying, Kevin! She's messing with your head you idiot! But no one could hear and my voice was only getting quieter.
"I could see everything in here and boy," she played the memories I spent crying over my dad. They were many. "Her eggs are all scrambled and well done in here, if you know what I mean." She froze. "Whoa." The memory of me being forced into surgery surprised her, but not for long. She began to laugh.
"I'm sorry, but you call us scum when in reality—your kind isn't much better. Murders waiting in the wings for the smallest excuse. HEY." She turned and with a swipe of a hand threw Dean across the diner. He was trying to grab me from behind and stuff my mouth full of salt.
He crashed into the tables. And then the counter. And the floor. And then the wall. And again.
Stop it! I uselessly growled. Stop! Hurting! THEM!
"Exarots omnistae omni immundos spiritus omni satanica potestus—" Kevin started the exorcism, but the demon snapped her—our—head to the him and clenched her fist, holding Kevin in a chokehold.
NO! I shouted, feeling anger coil inside me hot and fast. The demon faltered a little, shaken by the sudden burst of emotion, but then she gained control again. She shook her head with a shaky breath.
