For a reason she couldn't understand, Charlie woke up way before 7am all by herself without anyone or anything waking her up.
Maybe it was her body finally getting used to early mornings after five years or maybe it was the fact that today was such a big deal that she couldn't sleep any longer, either way she was wide awake now.
After checking the time on her phone, she sighed happily after realizing that there was still twenty minutes until they had to get up. While she wouldn't get any more sleep, she could spend that time just cuddling her husband or maybe have a quickie.
The problem was, however, that she had no idea where he was. The left side beside her was empty and cold which meant that it had been a while since anyone had slept there. Had he decided to start working early already? But that didn't make any sense considering what a day it was.
Maybe he was already preparing a breakfast or the children had woken up and needed help. Most of the time, her Mom ears heard everything but perhaps this time she hadn't. Thank god she now had an other person to help in these cases, especially one who didn't mind waking up early like she did.
Missing Fabian and feeling emotional already, Charlie got up and went to search for him in their new home. They had moved in this house a few months ago after their wedding. There were five bedroom, two offices, and two bathrooms, one in each floor, with a big kitchen and a yard.
Although Fabian loved to clean and organize things, he had hired a cleaner to come twice a week. Charlie had fought against because it felt so uncharacteristic for her to let someone else clean up her messes. Still, she had agreed that they didn't have enough time to keep the house clean which was why she had eventually agreed.
Earlier Fabian had also suggested a cook and a nanny for girls so that they could stay at home but that crossed the line. They were fully capable to cook themselves a food and there was no reason for girls to drop out of the daycare and school.
They had battled so hard to find a good daycare for deaf children and Juliet was loving going there and being with children her age. Same happened with Aurora which was why it had surprised her a little bit when she talked about being nervous and scared if no one would like her there or be her friend.
Before she could have even do or say anything, her husband had already wrapped Aurora in a tight hug and whispered her that everyone would be crazy to not like such a wonderful, smart girl like her.
Right now she was looking for that same man and he wasn't in the kitchen or in Juliet's room where she was sleeping gracefully, cuddling with her dozens of stuffed animals.
Then she went to Aurora's room and oh god, her heart almost melted at the sight that greeted her there. There they were, in Aurora's new bed that was made for big girls, father and a daughter sleeping together, cuddling close.
Fabian had his arms tightly around her, protecting her from the world even in his sleep. This wasn't the first time she had found him sleeping with one of the girls but her firstborn had started to grow out of it lately, showing her independence which had broken both of their hearts one too many times.
Remembering his cold side of the bed and yesterday evening when Fabian had taken charge of getting Aurora to sleep while Charlie bathed Juliet, she realized that he must had fallen asleep in here. It couldn't be very comfortable sleeping that way, his tall legs falling out of her bed.
Well, it was pointless to wake him up to sleep in their bed for fifteen minutes so she just smiled and kissed both of their foreheads.
Surprisingly, he opened his beautiful eyes immediately and he blinked many times, waking up slowly. Then Fabian looked at her, really looked at her, and smiled softly.
