Getting out of the car, Fabian rushed to open her door and started to run toward the hospital. It was unclear if he even realized that he was still holding her hand but she didn't mention it to him because right now, it was the only thing that kept her sane.

Walking into the hospital, Fabian started to scream for help, tightening his hold on her while she was trying to survive yet another contraction.

During the drive in here, she had read all about the risks of getting into labor at thirty-three weeks and how it could affect the baby and even its birth. Google said that the baby was the size of a pineapple. So tiny. So innocent. Her little pineapple who was now at risk because Charlie couldn't take care of her well enough.

Although she would have to be strong for Aurora who still didn't seem to understand the whole baby-thing, Charlie didn't know what to do if something did happen to the baby or worse, if she...

How she could ever survive that? Even thinking about holding her tiny, lifeless body made it hard for her to breathe and she almost passed out.

No way, that wouldn't happen. She would fight for her and do her best to give birth to a beautiful little girl. As long as she survived this alive, they would go through everything together even if there was some trouble with her health or development due to being born premature. None of those would make Charlie love this baby any less.

"What's going on?" A young, dark-haired Asian nurse came to them and her eyes immediately dropped to her belly.

"She's pregnant!" Thanks for telling her that, Fabian. She wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. "She's having a baby but she's only thirty-three weeks. Her water broke already and contractions are eight minutes apart. Help her, please! I'll give anything, all the money, just help her... please."

"Are you Charlotte Idler by any chance?" Another woman asked loudly from the desk. It was an older white woman with long, almost grey hair. Recognizing her voice, Charlie realized that she had probably talked with her earlier.

"Yes!" Charlie rushed to the desk, still holding Fabian's hand while he held her hospital bag. "I called here to ask what to do because my water broke so early. I called my doctor Gideon Ellis and he told me he's gonna be here soon."

"Hey, dear, I remember you. I saw Doctor Ellis a while ago so you're in safe hands. Why don't you go in there with the midwife Camilla, she's gonna look at the baby. We'll take care of you both, I promise," the sweet woman said, making Charlie immediately feel better. The feeling lasted about five seconds before she had to take a deep breath as she felt another contraction coming.

"The Dad can go in the room too," she promised, looking at Fabian next to her. Opening her mouth, she almost explained that he wasn't the babydaddy before realizing that her real babydaddy wouldn't be coming and that her parents were still far away. She had no one. She would be all alone.

"Thanks," she just mumbled without thinking, getting a confused look from Fabian but fortunately, he stayed quiet.

Avoiding his eyes, Charlie led him in the the room where the midwife asked a permission to do a vaginal examination for her. Now forgetting all about Fabian who was there to see everything, Charlie did as she was asked, desperate to know that her baby was alright.

Mumbling a quiet oops, Fabian rushed to her side and went to stand behind her, holding her hand tightly. Fortunately, he still didn't complain about how he was almost forced to stay in here instead of just dropping her off because she wouldn't be able to handle that. Without her Mom in here, Charlie needed someone and he was the only one available.

While the midwife looked at how open she was, Charlie was almost shaking with nerves which Fabian noticed. Whispering wise, relaxing words of how it was going to be okay and how she was going to be here with them soon, he started to massage her shoulders which surprised her but damn if it didn't relax her.
