For the next three days, he never returned to his own house apart from getting some extra clothes. He already had his toothbrush and some other hygiene products in Charlie's apartment which was starting to feel more like a home than his own.
Things between him and Charlie had also been different since Wednesday, in a good way. They no longer shied away from each other or panic about whether or not they could do this or say that. Now their relationship felt like a real relationship and mixed that with two young children who brightened up his days, they were almost like a family.
Correction, he was almost part of their family. Either way, he was happy in a way he hadn't been in a very long time if ever. Not that he would ever admit this to him because his ego was already big enough but Asher had been right about Charlie being good for him. Too bad he hadn't bothered to listen to him when he had first suggested that.
When he had tried to be a matchmaker and hook him up with her, Fabian had been only annoyed because back then he had been very serious about staying with Nora. It wasn't entirely even because of her but mostly to avoid disappointing his parents.
Thankfully, his mother understood but his father was very disappointed with how he had made their family look. For weeks, he had been called a cheater in the media and he understood that it didn't wasn't the best way to present the Murphy family. But what could he do about it if Nora lied about everything and the media didn't even consider his side of the story?
Right now, he couldn't care a less about that anymore because he had more important things to worry about such as Juliet's health, which had been better lately, and Aurora's birthday party. He would never forgive himself if something went wrong today.
Although Charlie had denied him to do anything crazy - what even was considered crazy? - Fabian finally got her to have a princess theme in the party. Everyone knew how much that little girl loved Disney and especially all the princesses.
Together they had planned and worked for the party, its decoration and the food. They had decided to keep it in his home because it was bigger and there were much more space for guests than Charlie's apartment.
What she didn't know, however, was that Fabian had rented Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella for the party. They had talked about it once and she had immediately denied it, talking about how unnesessary and expensive it was and how they didn't really need any princesses.
No princesses for the princess themed party? Was she out of her mind? Fabian loved that woman but sometimes she talked nonsense. That was why he had done it behind her back, already knowing that it would end up in a fight but he still wouldn't regret it if it made his babygirl happy.
Because Aurora didn't really have any friends her own age, their guests were mostly adults. Charlie had invited her parents and grandparents, Viviana and her co-workers and he invited both of his brothers, Noelle and Diego with his wife and children.
For a while, he had considered inviting his parents to finally introduce them to three people who had changed his life but ended that thought quickly. It was too early for that, especially knowing what kind of people they were.
His worst nightmare was that his father took one look at Charlie and started to compare her to Nora. Fabian couldn't do that to her.
"Fabian!" Oh no, she was angry. Why was she angry? Apart from the princess-thing, what else had he done to make her annoyed?
"Yeah?" he shouted back from his bedroom bedroom where he was dressing up.
"Come here!" Charlie shouted back without giving any hint of what was wrong. Sighing, he finished brushing his hair before rushing to her before she got too impatient and started shouting again.
