She was going on a date.

Well, not a date date but a casual lunch date with a friend. She just wanted to complain someone about this pregnancy, Mason, work and even her dearest daughter who wasn't nearly as sweet as she looked. And now they were going on a lunch together.

Just the two of them. Charlie and Fabian. Fabian and Charlie. This time without anyone, not even Aurora filling up the awkward silences with her baby talk and throwing food on the floor - thanks baby, that sure made a good impression on Fabian - which made her a bit hesitant.

"You know him?" Ramona asked with raised eyebrows, not taking her eyes off him.

"Yeah, he's Asher's brother. And, well, my friend," Charlie explained, hoping that was the truth. She didn't dare to look at Fabian in case he disagreed and didn't care to be friends with her.

Fabian sighed loudly and said, "You want to call all of my family members so you get your proof that I'm not gonna hurt her?"

Rolling her eyes, Ramona shook her head. "They're just gonna lie to you. But fine, she can go with you." As if she needed her permission but Charlie appreciated the thought. "But if there's even one hair missing from her then I'm gonna cut your dick and balls and feed them to my dogs. They're hungry."

Then she smiled.

What a crazy woman.

Charlie loved her so much.

Nodding at her once, Fabian clearly decided that Ramona had wasted enough of their time when he turned to look at Charlie. "You're ready to go?"

"Not really because I have no idea where we're going," she mumbled, looking at him annoyed but couldn't hide her smile.

Smiling, Fabian lifted his left arm, and only then did she notice that he was carrying two bags of food that smelled a lot like Chinese food. "You didn't!"

"Yeah, I did. Let's go, we only have twenty minutes." Fabian waited patiently until Charlie got over the shock and moved to stand next to her, still looking at him wide eyes.

Did this man not only get her out to eat and then also had her favourite food with him so that they wouldn't have to wait in a restaurant? He was a genius. But also evil son of a bitch because he knew that she hated it when people spent money on her.

"How much was it?" Charlie asked, wanting to pay every dollar back. If she hated anything, it was being in debt for someone. That she couldn't handle.

"Nope, not telling you and you're not paying me. If you try, I'll give them right back to you every time and that would just waste everyone's time, right? Now let me do this for you," Fabian asked, this just as patiently which wasn't fair because she was ready to fight. All this time Ramona kept her eyes on them as if this was some good TV for her.

The two of them kept staring each other in the eyes and she so didn't want to lose this, lose her pride but it seemed that he was determined to get his way too.

"Char," Ramona said, getting her attention from Fabian. Dammit!

"What?" she asked frustrated because she lost the oh, so serious staring contest.

"Take it, you deserve to get spoiled like this. If not for you, think of this as Fabian spoiling your girl," Ramona nodded at her stomach where her unborn daughter was growing every day. Well, if she put it that way...

Looking at him, she bit her lip and asked, "Are you sure that you don't mind?"

Both Fabian and Ramona groaned at that, looking like they were losing their patience with her.
