Juliet had been at the hospital for three weeks now and each day she was getting better and better. No longer was she underweight but unfortunately, there wasn't much progress in her hearing.

Charlie had talked with her doctor about how being born premature could affect her life just to get the full picture. Apparently, besides the chance of being small-sized most of her life and having visual and hearing impairments, there could be other life-long effects such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and poor health and growth.

It sounded that while she immediately needed NICU treatment, Juliet might have health troubles her whole life. That realization sure didn't help with the guilty feeling she had had about whether or not there was something else she could have done while she was still inside her.

There were also situations when premature babies had learning difficulties or even behavioral problems. Hearing that, Charlie immediately got the horror image of Juliet being a rebellious teenager who used drugs and stole from stores expensive clothes.

Couldn't the doctor tell her any good news sometimes? Even once? Was that too much to ask or was their family cursed forever? If she believed in reincarnation, she would immediately assume that she had been a serial killer and this was karma hitting her.

"Her hair is so long already," Asher whispered, unable to look away from her little sleeping princess.

"Hey Jules, this is your aunt Vivi," Viviana smiled down at the bed, standing next to Asher. "You look so much better already than the first time I met you."

Letting those two have their moment with her youngest, Charlie continued sitting in the chair while putting the hair tie on Aurora's hair because she had somehow managed to pull it off. Things like that reminded her how much she had grown up because not that long time ago she couldn't even walk.

"No Mama!" Aurora whined, making her roll her eyes.

"Just three seconds, stay still. Then you can go see your sister again," Charlie only chuckled.

"My sistel! Juliet!" Aurora screamed, running away to where Aurora's bed was. In a second, Asher had already taken her in his arms and helped her to see her sister better, explaining to her how they would play together soon.

Charlie wasn't surprised that it was Asher and not Viviana because although her cousin loved her children, she wasn't as natural with them as her best friend. And that was okay because even then she was one of the best people Charlie knew.

"Juliet sleeping?" Aurora frowned, looking down, but then she smiled wide when Juliet smiled again, letting out a tired sigh. "Not sleeping!"

Although she didn't understand very well what sister meant or why she was still in the hospital - or what hospital was - she did remember Juliet because of how often they had come to visit her. Charlie had tried her best to explain things as well as you could to a toddler but didn't want to scare her too much with the details.

Going to stand next to the three of them, she couldn't help but smile down at Juliet, whispering I love you like she had done every time she came for a visit. Although she couldn't hear it, Charlie prayed that she somehow knew how loved she was already by so many people.

Suddenly she had a strange feeling like she was being watched and it wasn't in the good way as she sometimes felt with Fabian. No, instead she only felt cold and almost scared which didn't any sense. Feeling her heart beating very loudly, Charlie turned around and almost let out a terrifying scream.

"What are you doing here?" she whispered instead, not being able to look away from Mason who was only standing by the door, staring at them like a creep.
