"Leave!"
"No!"
"I don't want you here!"
"And I don't want you to faint again all alone." Hearing that, Charlie groaned, took a pillow from the couch, and screamed into it.
This wasn't working and she was more and more on the verge of agreeing just to stop this nonsense and getting to sleep. It was a miracle that Aurora hadn't woken up yet from all this arguing.
Unlike his stubborn brother, Asher had left about twenty minutes ago, leaving the two of them alone and she had been trying to get Fabian to leave ever since but he was determined to stay the night.
For some reason, those two had gotten the idea that she was at a dangerous risk if she was left alone in here and while she appreciated their concern, this was getting a little out of hand. This wasn't cute anymore, especially considering that he most likely had someone waiting at home.
Charlie wasn't one who thought that women and men couldn't be just friends and have sleepovers without anything happening and obviously, nothing would happen between him and Fabian but she had a feeling that his fiancé wouldn't like it if he spent the night here. Did she even know where he was?
Even if she knew and didn't mind if her soon-to-be husband slept at another woman's home, Charlie wouldn't feel comfortable with it. By now she had understood that she liked him in a way that no woman should like about a taken man and that was why she should try to avoid him instead of having sleepovers with the man!
Luckily, Charlie had managed to act normal around him and not show how she felt because it would just make things awkward and they had just started to be friends. She would just have to get rid of these feelings and thoughts about him before things got more serious. Hell, she had even started to think of the dangerous, four-letter word starting with an L!
"Look at you!" Fabian frowned, pointing at her growing stomach which was huge even though she was still only seven months pregnant. "You're pregnant with a baby! You already fainted once and thank god, there were people at work. What will you do if I leave and you faint again? I talked with Ash and he said..."
"I don't give a fuck about what Ash said!" Charlie rolled her eyes before taking a deep breath. Then she tried to talk sense in him with a calmer voice, "Look, I get that you're worried after what happened but that doesn't mean that I need someone to watch over me. I promise I feel good. I'm just gonna sleep and rest tomorrow because believe it or not, my boss gave me a paid day off."
He didn't need to know that by resting, she meant cleaning this apartment and doing laundry that had waited in the bathroom for weeks now. That would take maybe two hours, then she would have to cook something for tomorrow...
Thank god Aurora was still going to the daycare because although she had wondered for a second if she should call there and tell them that she wouldn't go, Charlie had concluded that spending one day all alone wouldn't do any harm.
Besides, maybe she could try to rest and maybe watch some movies after cleaning because it had been way too long since she had had time to just sit down and relax all by herself. She really had to ask for more help with Aurora because she had felt more and more exhausted the longer this pregnancy had lasted, much more than what it was like with Aurora.
Considering that she had been with Mason back then and he had been the one working and earning money for them so that she could only focus on resting, it wasn't a surprise that Charlie was more tired now. After all, she was working and being the only parent to a wild toddler while trying to make sure that the baby inside her grew well and healthy.
