I bowed as the older man left to attend to his usual business. Whatever it is that Sages did, that is. My back slid down the wall into a sitting position next to the door and began my wait, which wasn't long. When it seemed like it was getting too long, I could hear the heavy footsteps of the two Vikings on their way to me.

"Up!" Thundered Thor, who didn't seem too happy that I was sitting and waiting. "Men do not slouch when they are awaiting their combat training."

"Uh, yes, sir!" I quickly got up from the ground.

"Are you ready for your training?" Loki asked.

"For his testing." Thor corrected, earning furrowed brows from Loki.

"I will prove myself to you."

My stern expression must have struck another chord with the giant of a man. He scoffed as he reached out, grabbed the handle of the room, and swung it open. I don't know what I expected, but this blew my mind.

The door opened to a large, grassy plain. Soft winds blew waves in the long green. The air felt clean and fresh, as though it was only just created. The temperature of the area was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. I was in total awe.

The two men walked past me and into the meadow. I quickly followed behind them. My two or three steps matched their one. As soon as the door closed behind us, it disappeared. I didn't have time to be worried, if I did, they would get way too far ahead of me. We eventually stopped, and the two turned to look at me.

Thor held up his hand and began to close it slowly. As he did, lightning sparked and cracked, beginning to shape into a hammer. The lightning solidified and left the very Hammer that Thor is known for using. Mjölnir. Never in my life had I ever thought I would see this for myself. He threw the hammer at my feet and scowled down at me.

"When you can pick this up, I will admit that you are ready to actually train with Seki." He scoffed at me. I barely caught it, but I saw Loki flash Thor a questioning look.

I reached down and grasped the handle and began trying to lift the hammer. No luck. No matter how much I tried to lift it, it wouldn't budge.

Panting, I gave up. "How the hell am I supposed to pick this damn hammer up?!"

"You will have until we are done training you to be able to lift it. If you cannot, you will be cast back to suffer what your world will go through. It's not our fault you can't defend it. We defended ours just fine." Thor's words were scolding. "Your first task will be simple. Damage my breastplate."

"Don't worry, I will step in if things go too far," Loki assured. "Whenever you are ready."

He must have put the breastplate on before coming to meet me. He wasn't wearing it before. If he wanted me to damage it, I planned to shatter it. I need to be ready.

I took a deep breath and cleared my head. My chest pumped and began priming my body to act. The adrenaline ran through me. I opened my eyes and bent my knees, readying my attack. The shining metal breastplate he labeled as my target set in my gaze.

I kicked off, using my Sole as a booster, sending me at the mountain of a man quickly. The flames balled up in my fist and I threw it in from of me. A blinding pain spread from my face and I was sent flying back, eventually landing and rolling to a stop. I couldn't move for a moment, laying there helpless.
