✬ Season 4 Theme ✬
✬ Minjoon POV ✬
My first day here at the Sanctuary was one of rest. Yeji showed me to my room, one right next to hers. Small, simple, and cozy. A bed and a bathroom. There was what I could only explain as a reading nook that had a comfortable-looking chair and a bookshelf that would feed me any book that I wanted. Well, for the most part. There were a few limits to its abilities. The book had to be something that was published unless they had it here, physically, in their library. While strange at first, it made sense after Yeji explained it. The Sanctuary was a civilization of people who reached for knowledge and discipline. So, it's actually quite reasonable that they would have access to literature.
That night was the best sleep I had ever had. My nerves had gotten to me, I guess, the fact I still wasn't used to the air here didn't help. I thought that once we got into the Sanctuary, the air would return to normal. But, I was wrong. Thankfully, by morning I was used to it. The time overnight that I didn't spend sleeping, I was reading. I had read every book that had any information on the blue Soles. I needed to know more so that I had a better chance to help.
Yeji came to get me early in the morning, her gentle touch being what woke me up. That touch was her hand rubbing my back. She may have been stern looking, but her touch was gentle. That same touch brought me from my deep sleep. She smiled down at me as I turned over and sat up. Her smile seemed off. Like something was wrong, but she didn't want to bother me with it. Or she was scared to tell me. Whichever it was, I couldn't tell.
I was tempted to take the Sole stone off my wrist to listen to her thoughts but decided against it. Not just because I was getting used to the quiet, but because I wanted to trust her. This girl had begun digging into my mind. Not in a negative way, but in a way that made me feel warm. I wanted her to be able to trust me enough to tell me if something was wrong.
"Hey," she smiled. "How'd you sleep?"
"Amazingly, actually," I answered, wiping the sleep from my eyes. "These beds are magic."
She laughed. Like a real laugh, and it was probably the cutest thing I have ever heard. Her smile was just as bright and cute.
"They are nice." Her smile stayed as her head leaned. "Come on, though, you have to get up. You're being summoned by Khan."
"Already? Guess it's time to get started on training." My response came out as a yawn and a large stretch.
Her expression dropped once again. Was she worried about me? The closer we got to this, the more worried she seemed to have gotten. Reading her thoughts would have been so easy, all I had to do was take off my bracelet. But, this need I feel to have her trust me was strong. I don't want to invade her privacy.
"Get dressed." She said, handing me clothes. "When you're done, meet me out in front of your door."
Yeji turned to leave the room but then stopped. Her head turned back to meet my gaze. A moment went by before she spoke.
"You're not... reading my mind, are you?" Her question made me chuckle.
A smile reached across my face and I held up my wrist. The bracelet that suppressed my Sole, the stone glistening in what light was shining through the room. She smiled back, a soft, relieved smile, before leaving the room. When the door closed, I rubbed my eyes and stretched before getting up from the bed.
