Edo, disarmed, moved away from the lava pit and into darkness. He'd walked the obsidian sea of the ancient lava, he knew the sacred site's treachery better than the American archaeologist.
Indy followed, glad to be away from the boiling lava - not realizing there were worse things coming. He was standing on an ancient lava dome, the ground beneath his boots fragile as glass, disguising boiling lava below. Indy's only clue of danger was the heat increasing under his boots.
"You brought the swords. Just like in my vision," Edo smiled. "Now I shall have them all."
"I doubt that," Indy grinned through a grimace.
Then he saw shadows surrounding them.
He pulled his gun... Edo kicked it from his hands.
