Emily came out of the unwelcome memory screaming lying on the ground, at the base of the sacrifice stone.

"EM!" Indy was terrified and furious. "Call off your supernatural goon squad, Edo!"

Edo smiled. "I can't. They'll do what they want. I'm only a human."

Lizavet spoke in a torrent of fury ordering in a strange language. Indy saw the apkallu back off in shock.

One apkallu approached Lizavet, towering over her and grinning between her and Indy. "Is he as strong as you remember?"

"He is as strong as he needs to be!" Lizavet snapped.

"But he doesn't remember you!"

"I'm not the one he needs to remember! Be gone!"

Edo stared, searching the supernatural, fighting his own panic and powerless.

"Em?" Indy called. "Are you hurt?"

Emily shuddered and sat up. "Edo! The hell did you do to me?"

His ninjas blocked Emily from clobbering Edo.

Edo ignored Emily and stared at Lizavet, his fury building. "Where are they? Where are the knowing ones? What have you done?"

"I'm a shaman," Lizavet answered triumphantly stubborn. "I can walk in and out of the Unseen Realm as I please. And your knowing ones are afraid, because they can no longer freely walk into my world, but I can invade theirs."

Several ninjas shoved and secured Emily to the sacrifice stone.

"Did they hurt you?" Indy's voice went up in grieving panic.

Emily looked at her father from under the brim of her fedora hat. "I'll shake later, Dad. Right now I'm furious. They sent me back to the tomb cave in... when I was four. Bastards! You bastard spirits!" Emily screamed into the night, not knowing where to look.
