Still on the mountain ridge, hidden in tall grass, Indy glared at Shorty. "I thought you were keeping an eye on her!"

"You told me to stop treating her like Miss Scott!" Shorty shrugged in a manner strangely similar Indy.

"That didn't mean stop watching her!" Indy snarled.

"You wanted me to watch your daughter?" Shorty echoed. "That sounds... creepy. And life threatening... considering its you, and HER. Indy, I think I'm more scared of her wiles than your fighting skills!"

Indy stared at Shorty, defeated between the young man who was oddly like him and his daughter, who was also infuriatingly like him. "I meant - You're right. I can't believe I just said that." He glanced toward the camp, and saw shadows, encircling Lizavet. One was low to the ground, wearing a fedora...

Shorty continued, having no clue of Indy's chaotically honed dad senses... "You've been bragging on her skills for the entire trip -"

"I didn't expect her to use them! Without me!" Indy looked again. The shadows weren't apkallu. "Forget what I said, kid. We're going in guns blazing." Indy pulled his pistol and started checking rounds. "That's my daughter. She'll need back up if she's going against the White Dragons."
