Dreams head swam. He felt emotion start to slip from his grasp. There was a dip in positivity.

Dream stabbed a banana slice with his fork. He really wanted to eat, but positivity was declining.

Ink stuffed a whole skittle pancake into his mouth. Dream looked up and giggled at Ink who had whipped cream and a chunk of peach preserves on his cheek.

"What?" Ink asked.

Dream gave him a sad looking smile and handed him a napkin. "You've got whipped cream and jam on your face."

"Oh..." Ink took the napkin and wiped it off.

Dream flinched as he felt a tug on his wrist. He looked down at his left hand, his ring finger was twitching with anxiety. He was about to start twisting the ring as a form of tapping, but Ink was watching him.

Tapping is a form of anxiety relief where the user calms themselves down with a repetitive activity, like twisting a ring, tapping the table, or rubbing a charm or necklace.

Blue sat down with his plate of a singular blueberry pancake.

He felt emotion slip more. There was a huge dip in positivity. That could either mean that Error had dissipated a positive AU or Nightmare was torturing people.

Dream let his emotional landscape open from just Blue and Ink.

Underswap copy 68 was under attack by Nightmare's gang.

...

Nightmare was there. Dream could feel it. It would be dangerous to go but this was Blueberry's home AU. He couldn't just let Nightmare destroy it. Nightmare had done nothing for too long and Dream knew full well that Nightmare wouldn't give up. He would do anything if it meant that he could feel anything other than hate.

Dream would have pitied Nightmare and his lack of emotion if it hadn't been for the fact that he understood it. He didn't like putting his brother in pain, but Positive Energy declined rapidly. Especially in the mortal realm.

A realm of being Dream couldn't exist in. He knew nothing about it, but could feel that it existed. Only barely. Most of the time he wonders if it even real.

He shook his head, focusing his thoughts on Nightmare. Now that he thought about it, this may be the first time Blue would ever see Nightmare.

Dream stood. "We need to go." He said a bit urgently.

Blue stared forlornly at his pancake but looked up at Dream with a smile. "Where to?"

"UnderSwap copy #68." Dream said with a grimace.

Dream watched Blue's skeletal brows shoot up in surprise. "But- ... Papyrus..." he muttered.

"Are you worried about your brother? He'll be fine! He is the judge after all." Ink shot him a grin that for some strange reason, sent shivers down Dream's spine. Dream suddenly had a very bad feeling but he couldn't dwell on it as Ink had summoned his paint brush and flicked paint onto the floor. "Let's go kick some bad sans nonexistent ass!" And with that, they were off.

The battle was not going well. Stretch picked up a sobbing mouse monster as Alphys turned to dust. Undyne was holding her glasses to her face as she shook with fear.

"Ugh. Where is that good for nothing piece of shit!" Stretch cried. He was tired of the little innocent boy disappearing half the time.

Blue had been gone for months, in fact he'd been gone for a year almost and Stretch was getting tired of it.

He shortcut out of the battle ground with the mouse monster and Undyne in hand. He pushed them through the barrier that Chara had broken such a long time ago. Some monsters preferred to stay underground while other were living on the surface. King Asgore was one of the ones on the surface while Queen Toriel stayed below.

Stretch shortcut back to the battle. Knifes he hadn't expected shot at him.

A soul breaks.

An orange hoody in the dust.

Ink shot through the portal with a spray of paint. Red paint landed in a neat little circle around the portal.

He immediately had to duck as an axe flew over his head. "Hey! That wasn't very nice!" He said a bit unhappily, like a mother reprimanding her misbehaving young child. One would think he was about to tell them to apologize.

Bones sprouted up from the ground at Inks feet and he jumped back, "really? Is this how you want to play it?" He growled, who were they again...? Terror, Murder, and Dirt? Ink shook his head and engaged in combat with the Murder Time Trio.

Knifes, bones, and Gaster Blasters flew around the battlefield as Ink dodged and shot paint from his brush. He saw Dream dealing with Cross who was refusing to let Dream get past him to Nightmare. But that wasn't the worse part.

Blue stood before Nightmare practically frozen in what seemed to be fear. He was quaking in his boots as he stared up at Nightmare.

The king made no attempt to attack him only watched with with an intrigued eye. Nightmare said something and Blue replied. Ink couldn't hear what they were saying till Nightmare attacked Blue. Blue jumped backwards and landed on a bone that had erupted from the ground. He stood above Nightmare who brought his tentacle back and stuffed his hands in his hoodie pocket with a raised eyebrow and a snort.

At this point pretty much everyone in the battle had stopped and were watching Blue's first interaction with Nightmare.

Blue had an unusual, unnerving, emotionless glare on his face as he watched Nightmare. After a second he randomly shot bones at Nightmare who startled and and dodged about a 2 third of them while still get hit by another third.

Blue's glare turned to one of confusion and what might have been worry.

All other battle had ceased when Nightmare had actually been hit by Blue.

A voice drifted across the battlefield as the bone Blue stood on shrunk to the point he was standing on the ground, in front of Nightmare.

"... are you blind...?" His voice sounded sincere as he watch Nightmare.

The king looked like a deer in headlights till he smacked Blue away with a tentacle and retreated.

Blue hit a tree and Nightmare was gone. Ink and Dream ran up to Blue. His back was covered in goo and he looked relatively unharmed.

Ink looked at Dream who looked weary and almost emotionless.

"You okay Blue...?" Dream asked, pulling Blue up to his feet.

"Y-yea..." Blue looked a bit confused.

"Okay..." Dream sighed. "I'm gonna go do some rounds. I need to bring up the positivity a bit. Blue you can go home, Ink take him home."

Ink nodded, opening a portal.

This is where it all begins, my child, this is where is all begins.
