• Summary: "What must I do Anakin to prove to you that I care about you?"
Silence.Anakin held his breath as he straightened his posture and rolled his shoulders back. While looking at his master in the eyes he let out the most confident tone he could muster through a shaky breath.

It's surprising how your life could change so drastically by the time you're a young child, working in the scorching heat of a desert planet, to being somebody's padawan and most likely becoming a Jedi master at the end.
Anakin was not used to the change. Of course, as a small child who has just been told he was to become a Jedi, he believed he'd be automatically prepared, however, Anakin learned very quickly things take patience. Especially things you desperately want.
Wanting things isn't welcomed by the Jedi, there are strict rules and protocols that must be obeyed, and the Jedi Masters had made sure to remind him of this. However after all these years, Anakin wants more, he wishes rules could be broken, however, he knows the risk if he is to be caught. Shame and humiliation, he could even be forcibly removed from the Jedi. Besides being a mechanic on droids and machinery, as well as serving the Jedi rules Anakin knows nothing. He knows nothing of love or how to love besides what Padme was willing to teach him whenever they get to be alone. Anakin wants more, he wishes he didn't feel so lonely, Padme is amazing and beautiful, she gives Anakin so much love but the love she can provide every few months isn't enough. Anakin wants more, he wants to feel appreciated, valued, or even listened to once in a while! Every time he opens his mouth all eyes are on him, and not in a way that would make him feel powerful and useful, all eyes seem to be watching, waiting for him to say something wrong so he can be criticized or even disregarded. Anakin hates feeling ignored or like he doesn't know what he's talking about, he is just as smart as any other Jedi but he never wants to be heard out.
Obi-Wan had always reminded Anakin it wasn't what he says it is what he does. His master constantly reminds Anakin that his arrogance and lust for power make people weary of him. Of course, Obi-Wan has the answer to everything, he always has something to say about how Anakin does something incorrectly and that is why people don't acknowledge him. Anakin has an appreciation for his master, most importantly respect. As embarrassed as he is to say how thankful he is, but Obi-Wan pushes him aside like everybody else. Why wouldn't he, I mean he was forced to graduate from his position early to take on the task of trying to train an already too-old child who had already made attachments and developed anger for things. For that Anakin despises Obi-Wan, he can't stand when that blonde haired know it all corrects Anakin, it makes him feel small.
Deep down Anakin knows that Obi-Wan would never purposefully belittle him, however, he needs somebody to be mad at, but he can't help and smile when his master touches his shoulder or praises him for correctly performing a task. Anakin just wishes that Obi-Wan would let him know that he cares once in a while would just be enough. But, he feels like he hasn't and most likely won't as Obi-Wan isn't the most affectionate person meanwhile Anakin is starved, a touch that not even his beloved Padme could fill. And for that reason, Anakin will be angered, resentful, and dismissive of Obi-Wan he will desperately prove himself to the council that he is ready, to show everyone he doesn't need Obi-Wan, and maybe then Kenobi will see that Anakin isn't just a burden but something more.
The Courascent lights shone through Anakin’s bedroom window. The city lights burned his eyes as he blinked slowly looking at the city, he wondered why so many people were already out moving at this time. His blankets clung onto the bed as well as spilled onto the floor, the only blanket that remained on his body was a thin sheet laid across his lap that was also beginning to slip towards the floor the more he tossed and turned. Anakin’s eyes slowly made their way to the holo pad that was on the table beside his bed frame, the hologram reading 4:00 AM. Anakin never finds himself awake this early, Anakin works as hard as he can during the day, therefore he cherishes sleep. Anakin would stay in bed all day if he could, he’d stay in bed until Obi-Wan was making ugly threats about going to force pull; him out of his bed. Anakin chuckled at the thought knowing his master would never inappropriately use force. The young Jedi knew it was pointless at this point to keep trying to fall asleep, he had been desperately trying to get back to sleep sense 3:00 AM. Anakin rose out of bed and stretched his back as he let the blood in his body work its way to a proper flow, he then grabbed a long-sleeved shirt and loose-fitting pants to give himself some modesty. This perfectly modernized shell was his home, or at least that is what Obi-Wan had told him when he was first brought here. But these walls will never feel like home to Anakin, not when he has a slight suspicion that the Jedi council had listening devices around this shell. Anakin had mentioned this to Obi-Wan and he was met back with a laugh about how ridiculous that sounded. Anakin slugged into the dark hallway, it made him depressed about the difference between the barren hall and that of Padme’s home. Along the walls of her brightly painted home, she had portraits of herself or floral painted oil paintings of the landscape of her home on Naboo. Thinking about Padme’s house-made Anakin yearn to see her again. Padme was once again on a trip to meet with other senators to promote her current campaign. She made sure to keep in touch with Anakin while she was away whether that was from comlink whenever they both had a free moment alone. Anakin however realized very quickly that she would most likely not have a moment to herself while she was away. If Padme was not busy speaking to council members she sat in her room for hours on end gussied up for her next appearance. Anakin never understood how Padme could sit so perfectly to get her hair pinned into some complex style at the same time someone was pressing some pigmented powder to a point on her face that could need touching up. Anakin would probably never understand how Padme could enjoy this, but it made her happy and Anakin could live with that, as long as it made her happy. Oh how Anakin wished she was beside him, he could have probably slept longer, he had to end up walking away from the hall or he would get depressed thinking about how his and Obi-Wan’s bare walls compared to her gorgeous quarters.
