Summary: What if Anakin wasn't present? What if Anakin was on Coruscant, in the Temple, when he learned of Obi-Wan's "death"? What if he reacted completely different? What if nobody was able to predict, how he would react? What if the Light inside Anakin exploded when he learned about Obi-Wan's death? What if he Fell?

What if?...

Anakin was training with Ahsoka. Fighting with their lightsabers, sparring with his Padawan at the training grounds of the Temple. He was quite impressed with her skills. She had come a long way since he first met her, back then, on the battlefield.

First, he was quite shocked that Obi-Wan wanted a new Padawan when him, he was right there, right beside him. Then, not even having overcome that shock, getting shocked again that this padawan was actually assigned to him, and not to Obi-Wan. But the two of them, they clicked, and Anakin was actually glad that Ahsoka ended up with him, if only that he still had to share his former master, but still, she was their Padawan after all, wasn't she?

As they continued to spar, Anakin noticed that Ahsoka was getting better and better pretty much with each passing day. The war might have had something to do with that, but he wanted to think that it was actually his and his former master's influence, rather than the necessity of the situation. Anakin could see the determination in her eyes, and he knew that she was going to be a great Jedi one day, if they all lived to see that day, that is.

As they took a break, Anakin decided to give Ahsoka some advice. "You're doing great, Ahsoka. But remember, don't let your emotions get the best of you, Snips". He smiled to her, not wanting her to repeat his mistakes, whether it be about his mother, or about running headfirst into danger because he was angered by the way the Separatists treated the population of the planets they tried to take over.

Ahsoka nodded, taking in Anakin's words of wisdom. Which, but he'd never tell her that, were actually copied from his Master, they were what Obi-Wan constantly used to tell him during his padawan days.

"I understand, Master. I'll do my best to control my emotions." Though, she couldn't stop herself from adding on a quip towards her Master: "Master Obi-Wan also advised me so multiple times. I strive to take his and your words to heart, unlike his former padawan."

Anakin smiled, before getting what she meant, after which he exclaimed her name, and lit his lightsaber again.

"Ahsoka, you little!!" Anakin stopped himself before he used foul language in front of his Padawan, which, would not be the first time, but also Master Plo Koon, who came in to watch Ahsoka train, and multiple other Masters, Knights and Padawans who were currently in the Training room.

"Control your emotions, Master! And your language!"

"Oh, it's on!"

Still, he was proud of his padawan. She was growing up to be a strong and capable Jedi, and he knew that she would make a great addition to the Order. No matter how sad he would be to see her get Knighted, though proud too. Was Obi-Wan just like this about him too?

He was proud anyway, and he knew that a lot of Jedi Masters were impressed by Ahsoka's agility and quick reflexes. She was able to dodge the attacks of fellow Padawans in the same age range pretty effortlessly, and often landed a few hits of her own to only one of theirs. Master Plo Koon watched her from the sidelines, probably grinning, if one could see that from under his mask, but he was undoubtedly proud of his unofficial protege.

"Get him, Ahsoka!"

Ahsoka smiled at the Kel Dor Master, but her expression quickly turned serious as she resumed her stance. Anybody could sense her determination to improve, and both her Master and Master Koon knew that she would continue to push herself until she reached her full potential and to protect the people of the galaxy, just like the Jedi around her. Anakin and Plo Koon both knew that she had a bright future ahead of her, and were honored to be a part of her journey.
