Summary: The last person Anakin expected to see, standing in front of his childhood home with a bottle of wine, was his one night stand from a week prior. Anakin was here to meet his mother's boyfriend and his son. Ben said he was invited to meet his father's girlfriend's family.

When Anakin’s mom called, asking for him to come to dinner in their old family house to meet her boyfriend’s family, the last person Anakin expected to see was his one night stand from a week before.

He wasn’t wearing worn jeans with a dark jacket, nor was he bending over the pool table with a pretty lady hanging off his back–instead he was wearing glasses, a knitted sweater vest, and beige khakis.

And Anakin still wanted to climb on his lap and ride him like a bronco.

He quickly silenced the horny side of his brain, focusing on the real matter at hand. Why was Ben here?

Anakin grew up on the edge of Coruscant, just past the suburbs where for miles and miles the scenery was empty roads and large fields. It was just himself and his mother in a two bedroom one bath farmhouse. He had to take an hour-long bus ride to the closest district for school, up until he was finally able to, legally, drive.

So what the hell was his dreamboat of a one night stand doing all the way out here?

Ben looked just as surprised, eyeing the bouquet of flowers Anakin had in his hand as he approached their porch.

“Well, hello there.” Ben said with a nervous laugh. “I…”

Whatever smooth line he had went quiet, not that Anakin could blame him. After all, it was Ben who quickly rushed out of Anakin’s apartment the morning after, saying he was late for class or something.

“Do you know my mom?” He blurted, unsure how else to ask why he was out at his home.

“Your mother?” Ben looked at the house number, as if that would give him his answer. “No, I was asked to join by my father–”

The front door opened, his mother on the other side with open loving arms. “Ani! I thought I heard voices outside.”

Anakin immediately went to her, spinning his mom in a tight embrace and kissing her cheek, as if he hadn’t seen her in years. He simply loved his mom, after all the hard work she went to put him through school and to live in the city.

“And Obi-Wan, glad you found the house easy. Come inside boys.”

Anakin followed his mother, leaving Ben–or Obi-Wan– to close the door behind him. It shouldn’t be weird Obi-Wan gave him a fake name when they met at the bar when Anakin told Ben to just call him ‘Ani’.

“Your father’s in the kitchen. He made your favorite.”

Obi-Wan gave a tight smile. “Fantastic, and this is for the house.” He said, handing over the nice bottle.

His mother thanked him and politely hugged him before announcing to Obi-Wan’s father that they were home.

Too much was happening at once, but when Anakin glanced over at Obi-Wan he saw the man was also piecing everything together.

“Your father’s Qui-Gon?” Anakin whispered.

Obi-Wan’s eyes widened. “How did you know his name?”

“Boys, come help set the table.” Qui-Gon called

Sure enough, the man Anakin’s only met in person a year prior, when his mother and her boyfriend were visiting the city, was in the kitchen with an apron wrapped around his waist and floral oven mitts Anakin got for his mom around his hands. He was removing a roasted chicken out of the oven.
